It's worth a shot, but I'm not convinced.  The part number for the pre-facelift cars was replaced with the same part number for the facelift cars.

You might be able to bend the pipes slightly, as I originally suggested.  There is only a variation of 1cm.

I guess I’ll find out.  It’s with me now and I dare say to return it will be a ballache.

i may have a look on eBay to see if I can see one.

Did you order that from Rock Auto too?  I ordered mine last Sunday and it hasn't arrived.

I also located and bought an new original Supra RHD evaporator.  It was on eBay, there are a few more available.

Yes it was from Rock Auto, strange yours hasn't. Assuming it's been shipped on tracking?

I'll track down the evaporator on eBay

My evaporator arrived yesterday from Japan.  Only took a few days to arrive.  I'm impressed.  No duty etc.

It is a direct replacement.  I bought it through a company on eBay called ISICAR.

My RockAuto package is currently being held at Customs, so I'll expect a bill for that 😕

That's fantastic news, well done.  If the one I bought from Rock Auto doesn't fit, I'll pick up one of those (if they have any left).

That's rotten luck.  Neither of mine were held in customs, I think it's just luck of the draw.  Most things that I buy from the US gets import charges.

It seems that the US seller that I bought condenser from may not actually have one in stock, even though they currently claim to have two in stock.  A delivery date of 2nd of September is a bit long considering I bought it at the beginning of July.  I thought it was too good to be true.  The seller is on eBay and is called JEGS Performance, they have a listing for more compressors in stock here:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/402121314265

I've messaged them and have not yet received a response.  Their general feedback is very good but just a few claim that they've had no comms and had to cancel orders in the end due to the supplier not having stock.  All a bit strange.

I leave the info above for your consideration if you are looking to buy from them.  I guess there are more good experiences than bad.  I may now end up getting one from Toyota in the US, they seem to have stock but the prices are through the roof, as is the postage

I just bought the gasket kit from RA. Turned up nice and quick.

And good guides on getting the compressor out? I have a leak so I'm assuming there isn't really much refrigerant still In there? So much so the ac clutch won't allow it to run .

An a/c clutch is triggered by the pressure sensor, in order to prevent the compressor starting up and then pulling a vacuum. You could still have a 25% charge in the system. The best way to get the system purged is to use a recycling machine. As these cost around £3k they aren't in everyone's tool kit. So, if you unscrew the H cap then you can depress the valve to vent any pressure in the system. Be sure to wear decent gloves as escaping refrigerant will have a cooling effect.

Once you have vented the system then you can remove the compressor knowing its safe to do so. When you refit the compressor you will need a vac pump with a port coupling to check the system is sealed and get it ready for re-gassing. That is best left to a professional as they will have the equipment, the refrigerant and also be able to fit a new receiver drier for you.

There are a/c threads onsite that give the Denso part number from the drier. If you have planned ahead you would have already ordered one from RA when you ordered the gasket set. You do need to change the drier when the system has been opened.

Great response. Thanks for the info. I only have the gasket kit. So I'll order a drier too. Basically trying to avoid my aircon guy sending the compressor off to be reconditioned for weeks and not have the car on the road.

Will give them a call and see if they can do it themselves if I have all the parts ready.

Compressor is quite simple from below. You need to obviously remove the main serpentine belt, then there are two bolts that are obvious, then there is a less obvious stud that has to come out. I think it needs a smallish female torx?
