MrGRT
Guys, sorry for my English first. Secondly, the copper contact ring that connects to the bulb socket is almost gone as you can see in the photo. What can I do to improve or fix the contact so the bulb works?
Peter P
Hi, Probably not in the right section of the forum, but hopefully a mod will move it for you. Looks like a good clean may be all you need to improve the contact with the bulb. If you google search ‘how to clean electrical contacts’ it gives you some options. Rubbing alcohol is the main one I have heard of myself, but seems there are sprays and lots of options depending on what you can find. Hope this helps and you get it fixed soon. rider
For small repairs there is the silver electrical paint that is a common fix to heated screen broken filaments. You used to be able to buy it in brush top glass bottles but seems to come in syringe form these days. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Conductive-Silver-Paint-Varnish-Electrically/dp/B00PSKQZ60
