Late 2nd turbo Latest

Well guys the turbo is still coming in late intermitantly, i have now changed the following

ECU

VSV's

MAP sensor

TURBO pressure sensor

Pressure tank is ok

coolant sensor seems ok.

I tried another ECU today , same problem but a bit strangely i got no fuel cut even boosting to 1.4 bar with no FCD fitted , any thoughts on this and could it be related to 2nd T not coming in till 5500rpm +

its become personal , you know the type of thing 'if its late i can kill it' LOL. There arent too many more things it can be and im determined to sort it myself , i have a hunch on what it could be so im gonna check that tommorrow but the fuel cut or lack of it has thrown me , i now think its mechanical and not electrical .

I thought the Mines ECU controlled fuel cut?

If it does, then maybe a pipe is off/leaking a la FFCD mod on mkiv.com .....leaky pipes could also affect when No 2 comes online.

But I'm sure you've checked this..........

If there is another form of FCD then maybe this is causing problems?

You also say it is intermittent ? Has that always been the case?

Have you checked for a boost leak by pressurising the intake ?

I don't think that you would have a large one(leak that is), but it may show any problems with split hoses etc.

The Mines ECU does sort the Fuel cut but the ECU i Swapped in was a stock one that the guy had experienced fuel cut with in his car yet i could hit 1.4 bar with no cut

Usmann mechanical as in not an ecu type fault but maybe the same thing that senses boost to activate fuel cut also activates the vsv's to bring the 2nd Turbo on line ???

Martin F , how can i presurise the inlet ???? surely there will allways be a valve open thats gonna let the pressure by .

You need to find something like a baked bean can and insert it into the outlet pipe from the turbo side. Fix a tyre valve or similar to the middle of the can and then pressurise the system (make sure the bean can is clamped in place obviously).

With the throttle closed you will be only checking the intercooler piping and shouldn't expect any escape of pressure, but once you open the throttle plate some air will disappear if any of the valves are overlapping, but the air will disappear through a split hose quicker and you should be able to hear this.

It's a possibility you have a problem with some of the pipes associated with the pressure tank.

Thanks dude i thought i had cured it today , i took off all the turbo pipes and changed the 2 hoses that go to the actuator on the rear turbo (EBV) put it all back together and seemed fine , but it appears to have gone a bit late again , i really need an empty dry road to try it properly but i have a theory as to what it may be .
