Thanks mate, just need to get the dash all cleaned up nicely as you can't get to it once the glass is in.

I think it will be complete before i know it, will leave interior out for a bit though until i get all my future proofing done (i.e. running speaker wires, reverse camera wires etc) as it's a pain to take it out again.

Paint is good, i'm happy with it - will never be as good as OEM but they've done a good job. Need to get a couple little niggles taken care of then it will be perfect.

Little Update since last time!

Got the rear bumper, lights, aerial, fuel door and 3rd brake light all in place. Noticed that A couple of the small LEDs in the brake light have stopped working so probably need to figure that out or buy a new one.

Noticed a little straggler which I can’t remove..

Then I put the outer door seals back on, the drip channels and F8F7B794-51BC-47B8-A0A7-765E3178711B.thumb.jpeg.3810904a40b908990b598e1f6c55436b.jpeg7ECBD281-0B9E-454E-8EDB-457F5AEEC0F6.thumb.jpeg.3aafb988c5342e50a5053c2c7c26adde.jpeg8D71AF9C-4A0E-4B6E-B49A-234F23E18DB8.thumb.jpeg.6738e3bfabad4f1ca5868b6cbb14d375.jpeg833F7A08-A178-4334-AE73-AE33148F34A6.thumb.jpeg.8896181dcc1e9bcca71f9c477d0b1e01.jpeg

The spoiler then came back off ready for glass to go in.

Glass was then re-bonded on Monday.

On Saturday I refitted the rear quarter seal and front A pillar seal brackets, and passenger door handle. I also had some bonnet catches made in stainless as mine were missing when I bought bonnet. I made some more to sell incase anybody is missing some.

On Sunday I set to work on doing a couple little bits, these included diagnosing why my drivers window wouldn’t go up (2 hours!), fitting the drivers door lock and handle, fitting rear aerotop seal, front aerotop seal, sorting side skirt clips, installing wiper motor,

Here is where it’s currently at.. don’t worry the wheels will be changed just not sure what to yet.

That’s all for now - will get the side repeater indicators, front bonnet mesh and rain guards, front wipers painted and fitted, aero roof seals done and wheel arch linings on in the next couple weekends.

Nice progress mate. 👍

What was the root cause of the drivers window not working? Spotted it took you 2hrs to diagnose.

All coming together nicely though. 🙂

Thanks mate - i know it sounds daft but there was more than one connection for it. I had left a couple little things unplugged as i wasn't sure where they connected to and didnt want to cause a short somewhere. In the end i looked through a wiring diagram that Izaak sent through and managed to plug in the correct wire to each other. From memory there are two feeds to the switch.. Anyway all good now 🤪

Saturday Morning i dyed the carpet as it was looking a little tired.. currently letting it air dry for 72 hours before heating it to "seal" the dye.

66.thumb.jpg.f6417190292cfd5b7ad506c0c888ff83.jpg666.thumb.jpg.77e0acfd298fb5514f9f815754ca4119.jpg

Started with rubbing down a part of inside the boot i wasnt happy with then spraying it to make sure it's all tidy. (don't have any pics at mo).

Then sprayed the rear shock covers as they were rusty.

123.thumb.jpg.382b4a201b0e266cfe848df14f7e5dfa.jpg

As my wiper arms were half silver half black?? I decided to spray them Matte black - here they are in the etch primer before spraying.

6666.thumb.jpg.05873bce68da03ca10f5eaa2edbe1847.jpg

I decided to spray my wiper cowling but completely cocked it up which meant that all the paint had to be rubbed back off which took me a good 2-3 hours to do. I've now resprayed it but it needs a light rub to remove some small scratches left over from sanding.

66666.thumb.jpg.fe8b7b8facb9026fac6e9736893caa1c.jpg

I managed to find a stock airbox which means that i can replace the HKS mushroom filter which although sounds good, has about as much filtration as a prostitutes knickers. I do like the look of the stock airbox. I also gave below it a slight rub down and a coat of paint so it's all fresh underneath it. Engine Bay needs a really good clean as it's super dusty from the bodyshop.

 6666666.thumb.jpg.bdb0722392031e7dd7dc416452190590.jpg

Then i managed to fit a black headlining from the supra in the background rather than sticking with the grey it came with. Managed to get it off without removing the brackets or the seals on the other roof which was a bonus.

666666.thumb.jpg.1f7a15bde3b8c4aba5fa6e4b874064ba.jpg

Ended up using a butyl rubber sealant aswell as the regular sticky stuff it comes with in order to secure the side seals nice a tight. I didn't manage to get too many photos this weekend but it's starting to look like a car again. I also fit the facelift indicators you can see in the background to the TS bumper.

666666666.thumb.jpg.9b2b09b04f5568c5840cea8febca5c12.jpg6666666666.thumb.jpg.09598857f2cbb26c9dafc746077abe91.jpg

By this point i had also Ceramic coated the refurbed headlights so they're ready to go in.

Plans for next couple of weeks:

- Fit wing indicators

- Fit arch linings to skirt side

- Fit wiper cowling + Wipers

- Purchase and Fit FMIC

- Purchase and Fit Gearbox Oil Cooler

- Purchase and Fit Intercooler panel.

- Purchase all servicing items that are required. Going to try and go above and beyond what's needed to be done for peace of mind.

A day of ups and downs today. Wanted to fit the new OEM wing indicators I bought, turns out the guy before had cut the harness and reused a different connector so I need to get a couple from MR T.

As I had some time I thought I’d marry up the front bumper and lights and make sure they fit. In trying to get the bumper to line up nicely where it meets the wings I cracked the top part that runs in line with the bottom of the bonnet.

No big deal as it needs to go back to the body shop for a couple touch ups anyway but still frustrating. I’ve got to have it off and on a couple times for various bits so I need to figure out a safe way of doing it. At the moment their feels to be a lot of stress along the top bar as i had to force it a bit to fit.

anyway… Got it on for some photos to see how it will look. ignore the wheels as they’ll be replaced.

What do you guys think of the kit combo? I really wanted to bring back some of that 90s nostalgia

I like the kit combo, could easily imagine seeing it in an old episode of Hot Version, it flows nicely and silver was a great choice!

Thank you mate. I do still wonder if I should have just saved myself the aggro and stayed stock body but if I didn’t do it now I don’t think I ever will.

This weekend started to get the interior back in as the stuff is so bulky and taking up a lot of room in the storage.

I hoovered and detailed the inside of the car so it’s nice and clean before the carpet goes down, ran the reversing wire nicely along the side of the car into behind the head unit.

The bit that looks like rust is just staining, their were picture hooks that had got under the carpet and rusted which stained this part, without removing the sound deadening I couldn’t clean it

Annoyingly one of the dash panels were marked at the body shop I’d imagine which is a shame as they were all pretty clean. I tried to clean it with Soap and water and it just took some more coating off so will leave it for now.

Got a few goodies on order - also need to get some servicing parts but yet again I am awaiting a response from TCB

Thanks mate - trying to keep it as clean as possible as i go along. Changed the whole headliner to black and it's made a huge difference to the interior along with the carpet.

Thats true. My aero was grey and it only went a darker grey after dye.

Looks super in black after a retrim mind. If you found/have an OEM black top. hens teeth.

Luckily i did.. but the sun visors are a little worse for wear. So i'm on the hunt for some black ones.

It was the misc bits like the plastic trim and central light etc that i didn't even think about - so luckily got those too.

Few bits done today. Amazing how fast the time goes. I spent a couple hours making the bumper fit better and now it’s great, so that was worth the time. I had planned to do some more but I had some issues with another car which needed sorting so that took a lot of my time. Got a lot to do tomorrow before the F1

First today I got the new 6.5” Focal speakers into the rear GZ boxes. Excited to try these out.

CAC7F5FC-E945-49A1-B78F-438B029DE9A3.thumb.jpeg.0fc3ea66cd8d6b9a38769d2aba294007.jpeg

Then I used Front speaker brackets I purchased from TB developments (expensive for what they are but they are really good!) and placed the new focal 4” speakers into those boxes.

1D20B4AC-F399-4424-B8B3-96F76A96AA94.thumb.jpeg.2260de841bceec1343402a4d380741e5.jpeg400D21BA-1319-40AC-914A-C3A5587A8A5D.thumb.jpeg.d144e1f10ba9c3783bd8a146a92787d9.jpeg

I then noticed my speaker covers had obviously faded over the years and turned blue so a quick spritz of black and they look brand new.

As a side note - my Airbag bulb was missing from the display. I put a new one in and now it comes on, but fails to go out when I start the car. Any ideas how to reset the airbag light??

I have bought a lot of parts recently so hopefully start to get some of them on!

There is a thread in the FAQ for resetting the airbag light.

Thanks Ric! Worked a charm!!

Another day of a lot of time gone but not a lot to show for it!

Started off Resetting the airbag light, then got the car onto the ramps to replace the shock insulators that had perished on the rear. While they were off I gave them and the springs a spray. They’re only the standard shocks and springs until I save up for some nice coilovers.

Whilst I was there I replaced the rear brake pads which were running a bit low.

I plan to paint the callipers and clean up the lower arms are some point. Maybe when it’s a bit warmer.

I then replaced the Fuel filter which a brand new one. Nothing was wrong with the old one, I just thought it would be best. 5BDBAD62-97CB-49D6-9195-C758A44D6C81.thumb.jpeg.8e53df411e940e24edd2f3e4ef6c5bed.jpeg

On the to do list for next weekend.

- Fit Aerotop under brace (the cross section one) for some reason mine only came with the standard one.

- Wire up oem wing indicators (they had been swapped out for after market ones before)

- Fit new exhaust hangers, for some reason the ones I have just aren’t holding in the right place

- Re-install amp, rear bench seats, central locking module and both front seats.

- Finish installing all the rear boot trim.

- Oil service and Spark plugs

There's a much neater DAB aerial you can fit than that one: https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/connects2-ct27uv70-universal-discreet-amplified-dab-digital-radio-antenna-glass-mount-aerial.html

I used this one, looks better and works great 🙂
