Evening people, don't post much but after being off the road for 7 years I thought I'd post a few pictures! Know how we all like pictures lol

After starting a business 10 years ago, I had no time or money for the car so she went away and got forgotten for probably about 5 years.20171112_111024.thumb.jpg.e959d2f09db3e23505ebb9a7101982ae.jpg

we decided to buy a new house that needed a full renovation, and also had spec for an extension and maybe a nice warm garage!

So.... I opened the garage 20180129_214402.thumb.jpg.08055f540207b7521a6b73a199e2213e.jpg20180129_214526.thumb.jpg.85f3e22bb9396c120949c136f19daff2.jpg

Ashamed.... I pushed her out changed the oil and filter, some fresh fuel, and made sure the engine was free ...she started first time !

bit of a clean before going to my parents to be covered up and stored again 🙄20171112_140259.thumb.jpg.e24459647d2b336fdd4fccd1a55d08ad.jpg

finally after 12 months she could come home, probably the best bit of the whole renovation and extension was finally having a fully insulated garage with heating and bringing the car home.received_583300412466419.thumb.jpeg.c78da79bd1a500de8745d49b614e991e.jpeg

First job, wheels sent for referb

A few issues....clutch had no pressure at all, breaks were binding, so all the calipers off to re paint and service 20200807_172859.thumb.jpg.7ed703acc92ef157831485b37c889e1b.jpg

so changed the clutch fluid and bled it until I had firm pedal...then to the breaks... following videos I begun to bleed the breaks, couldn't understand why the pedal was still soft ...20200805_215400.thumb.jpg.961a157864863bee5ce10d25a8508b27.jpg

the last one and find this lol. So found a replacement painted it and all good at last.20200808_133450.thumb.jpg.3ffb1b436929e1de77b5e238274a395b.jpg

Some new bc coilovers received_2837589049862475.thumb.jpeg.c5cec677e19070f07ce5a413054d5c54.jpeg

while on stands I cleaned off any surface rust, painted all the heat shields and the petrol tank cover.

With an intermittent starting problem and searching on here I thought I would try the starter motor 20210101_170714.thumb.jpg.9b742bd5c526e8db1f16295e5d617a8f.jpg

Quite alot of dirt .... I got it all clean and back on ...starts every time now.

Onto the body work, wife brought me a d.a and lots of products to try for my birthday... a few before and after 20210130_155937.thumb.jpg.192fa018996e3a6033f06617f3123458.jpg20210112_183459.thumb.jpg.83e8935a7aec4d1f03ad712034f1216f.jpg20210207_123938.thumb.jpg.754b1cde03f7c3db6ee4b83a8a212faa.jpg

With the better weather i was itching to drive her again, after a few other jobs I decided to book an mot...... day of mot I went out to make sure everything was fine.

As the battery had been on and off she wouldn't idle properly so went for a drive,

And broke down .... lights came on the dash and just cut out.

Managed to get home on what was left in the battery and tested the alternator...it wasn't charging. Mot cancelled. Gutted.

Thanks to Keron who got me a new one out the next day ! IMG-20210416-WA0001.thumb.jpeg.b3927730ddbadaa24527ebc89f6c423b.jpegIMG-20210416-WA0005.thumb.jpeg.505842c53efd8ecc986b0d66ae07a5ab.jpeg

Finally ready

and she passed!

Loads of other jobs to get done, but working progress.

Pretty much everything I have done over the last year has been with advice and old posts and pictures from here, which has been a massive help 🙂

Wow you must have took it off the road not long after we last met! Glad it’s back on the road 👍 we will definitely have to organise something local again.

I think that was my last meet and a good day it was !

Good work, nice clean up and transformation. Must be nice to get it all up and running without any real troubles and to see it looking so nice after bringing it out of the garage after all that time.
