I may have a slip control switch? Is it the type with snow/slip control?

Hi Phil,

thank you but it’s not unfortunately.. it’s similar to the one pictured below. I think the one I have is faulty so was considering trying to replace it.

Just been to the garage and checked. Isnt even a traction button i have its an active spoiler button. If the lights on id hope its the button stuck but more than likely a fault with abs or stepper motor on the throttle body? Think thats how it works?

It's a relatively rare part.  I would be willing to offer £40 for it.

The price reflects the fact we can't confirm it works, and it is showing some signs of use.

Ok that sounds fair, if you want to pm your address and payment will be bank transfer preferably but can do paypal if you want?

-3 spoke supra wheel with cruise

Unfortunately, I don't think any of the vvti facelift JDM cars ever came with cruise (I may be wrong though). I believe the 97/98 US spec ones did (but i'm sure that'll be very expensive, if you can find one).

IMO, your best bet is to get an IS200/IS300 wheel with cruise control (the pre-facelift switch is much bulkier and won't fit in the 3 spoke) and get an OEM facelift Toyota 3 spoke and combine them instead, or vice versa, get a Toyota airbag and combine it with the IS wheel. Late model ST2xx Celica's, RAV4's and a few other JDM Toyotas between 1997 and 2000 (ish) all use the Supra 3 spoke. I managed to find one last year advertised as a Celica wheel, and it had perforated leather at 9 & 3. I plan on combining them and keeping the spare to send away to get refurbished/modified to look like the Carbon optional wheel (in the distant future). The only issue is that I have no idea if my car has the wiring for cruise control in the first place 😂 (not checked yet), but I digress.

No worries mate, can't really help with the other stuff unfortunately. You thought about getting new OE lights for your TT6 and putting the TT6 lights on the GZ? 2 for 1 upgrade in my eyes, that's what I am going to do to replace my pre-facelift set on the NA.

No problem! yes I have, sent an enquiry to TCB today so see how that goes. Only thing is my ones have @Nozawesome stainless rings in them so should last forever but I’ll probably get new ones with PPF or similar to stop the yellowing

If you get the cruise control aftermarket boss (i think whifbitz sell them)

You can take out the buttons and extend the wiring into the column plastic like i did. Means you still get cruise and don't need the manky stick out stalk.

Hi mate,

May be able to help with a set of coilovers fairly soon. Obviously depends on how they look when SRD fit my new HKS setup, but if they are good and not leaking then I’d sell them to you for a fair price. 🙂

Believe the car is running HSD’s from Whifbitz (these ones https://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/hsd-suspension-3383-3997.html ), and they aren’t that old as think Mike fitted them to the car not long before I got it. If they come out and are leak free and in good shape I’ll let you know mate. 👍

Cheers.

Ahh no that’s the facelift one. This one just says slip control off when it’s pressed. The problem is my light is on all the time, and I think the switch is sort of stuck down

I'd check the resistance on your ABS sensors or do a diagnostic code check. Its more likely that one of your ABS sensors has failed.

PS - I have a spare set of very good Bilstein coilovers with original excellent condition OE coils sold to me as coming off a very low miler (something that is a very common beast in Supra World). I paid a lot for them so they certainly wont be sold cheaply. If you cannot find a set elsewhere then do come back to me.

Thanks both, let me know @Peter P as in no rush!

@riderit turned out to be the throttle control ecu which has now been replaced and working great!

Will do mate. Hopefully getting them swapped out in the next few weeks, so will let you know how they look once SRD have removed them mate. 👍

Be in touch.

Cheers.

Pete 🙂
