TrickyBlue
Hi all, I'm looking to get the bottom end rebuilt on my 2jz. I think I'm going to go cp pistons and manley h beams, along with king racing washer and bearings. Arp studs aswell of course. Could i get some recommendations on who/what garage to use, closer to the midlands/staffordshire the better. Or even if it's worth having a go myself? Noz
Whifbitz, SRD and Chris Wilson are forum favourites for engine builds. Putting together the engine is fairly straight forward. But when encountering a problem experience is needed. If you want the challenge do your research and give it ago. But if you want peace of mind it's worth paying someone. AC93
You can be brave and have a go, not difficult if you have the correct tools and clean work space. I had my bottom end forged by James Hart, not sure if he's still operating though. But he did a great job and the engines been mapped making good power and running sweet as. My plan B was to get SRD to build it, you will pay for it, but then it's worry free and future proofed with the forge build. They finished my car off and did the mapping, 110% worth it. Swampy442
Whifbitz used to do off the shelf forged exchange engines, not sure if they still do
