leon_83
hi guys, I am a Toyota Supra owner and I live in Italy. my Supra is a 2000 m.y., JDM spec, 2jzgte vvti engine, V161 / A03B trans / diff. Soon I will rebuild my diff. and I wanted to shorten the final drive, by installing an R&P in 3,615: 1 (currently I have a full BPU, 18 "wheels, and I don't care about top speed but to have more acceleration). Having said that, I have read everything on this page and something on the Lexus forums too, but unfortunately I have not found the answers I am looking for, and before I spend any money, I hope someone here can help me. Consulting Toyota / Lexus EPC I found this out regarding 3,615: 1 compatibility -41201-59055 (500usd): Toyota Celsior (UCF30 / UCF31-3UZFE) Soarer (UZZ40-3UZFE); Lexus GS430 (UZS190-3UZFE), LS430 (UCF30-3UZFE), SC430 (UZZ40-3UZFE) -41201-49125 (720usd): Toyota Century (GZG50-1GZFE); Lexus GS300 (JZS160-2JZGE) GS430 (JZS160-2JZGE) LS400 (UCF10 / UCF20-1UZFE) -41201-49135 (502usd): Toyota Century (GZG50-1GZFE); Lexus GS300 (JZS160-2JZGE) GS430 (JZS160-2JZGE) could you explain to me the differences between these R&P? Anyway which of these is 100% bolt on on the Supra's small 8" diff? I also read that some R&P, despite being adaptable to the Supra small diffs, are "thinner" in the crown diameter and must be flanged Thanks in advance
rider
There is some information online suggesting that the differential ratios vary for the Supra diff depending on the market they were destined to serve. Quote The ratios available are 3.13 (factory US spec) 3.26 (93 to 95 JDM TT 6-spd) and 3.54 for some European/GCC market configurations. So the European spec is apparently close to the ratio you are after. Why not confirm that and then buy a Euro spec ring and gear set or look for the entire unit and recoup most of the cost by then selling your own? I took one of my cars from 3.0 to 3.55 and I'm OK with it but not ecstatic. Its faster from standing for sure but I have knocked almost 20% off the top speed and those extra 20% revs at any speed can get a bit intrusive noise wise and obviously needing to work up through the gears faster than you would have on a standard diff. I only do town or A road driving in that car so fast road setup is fine, its a noisy beast on faster duel carriageway cruising though. So I wanted to buy only the crown and pinion. the difference between my ratio 3.26 to 3.61 is about 10% (3.78 seems to much on the TT with v161). the problem is to understand which is the correct part number for the lexus 3.615 r&p spare part

I have carefully read all the pages and also others on the Lexus forum ... they speak of compatible models, but no one indicates the oem part number for the various spare parts, and, for example, for the 3.615 ratio that I am looking for there are 3 codes different (including two for the same models / years): 41201-59055 41201-49135 41201-49125 .... I would not want to spend several money and then discover that they are not compatible
