I doubt it's financial trouble at the moment, more like it's 'just' suffer a UK sales slump.

Recent circumstances making people reassess new car purchases across the board and so they are doing their choice of promotional thing? I do think the Mkv is going to suffer harsh depreciation though, already is really....

Well, not to rehearse what has already been said about the J29 being a BMW, but most BMW “M” cars don’t tend to hold their value very well, let alone it’s “half-way M” cars like the “M340i”, which incidentally shares its engine with the J29 Supra.

I would have thought the GR Yaris would still sell like hot pancakes, given all the positive press it’s received and in spite the current climate? For them to include it in such a promotion, so soon after its launch, I feel highlights somewhat of an underlying issue at Toyota...

There's quite a lot of places using A90.

https://media.toyota.co.uk/2019/01/the-legend-returns-world-premiere-of-the-new-toyota-gr-supra-at-the-2019-north-american-international-auto-show/toyota-gr-supra-a90-edition-15/

J29 supra. 154k Google results.

A90 supra. 2.61m Google results.

For whatever reason j29 does seem to be used sometimes. But I think it's best to use A90. That seems to be the popular choice.

The use of the reference “A90” is little more than a poor marketing attempt to associate the J29 with the MKIV “JZ(A80)” Supra... officially, the chassis code “J29” is followed by “DBXX”, that specifies the model, which is a BMW naming architecture. See the “Model codes” heading here for reference.

I thought they'd be popular!

Traditionally, the Z4 is probably the most unpopular BMW in the range - though, happy to be corrected!

Still not seen one in the wild.

Come to think of it, neither have I... I’m not surprised though considering the horrendous sales figures.
