Lovely car and great to see a true comparison of performance.

I’m a fan of the MKV, but it just doesn’t scream flagship to me like the MKIV does. If it were a flagship, Toyota wouldn’t taint it with a 2.0

No I think the yaris GR wears that crown now

Ok this is snapping me out of my possibly moving on phase I think, just need to spend some money on the old girl and enjoy it (I think I just had some winter lockdown blues with it being undercover at work)

Mkv will depreciate hard and it's 'newness' novelty will almost certainly wear off quite quickly I think.

Mines at 1.15bar and has the 1st turbo boost mod so outright pace wise looking at yours there'll be nothing in it at all, especially once rolling.

What was I thinking!!

Trust me I've had the same thought many times, test driven a handful of cars around the 25-35k marker and nothing has ever felt as special as the mk4 supra does to me, even in auto guise I still love it. R35, r8 v8, 911.. they were all brilliant cars in their own way but nothing felt quite as special and unique (I'd still love a r8 one day though)

Mk4s are brilliant and like they say in 1993 when it launched it must have blown everyone's mind. The only thing id replace it with is a r8 v10

Shame it wasn't dry. She puts up a great fight against the BMs.

Never going to beat the gearbox in the new ones though its simply epic.

In the dry with a hi stall I reckon I would have had them

I still have a current soft spot for an I8, I like the tech, carbon fibre front tub and powertrain combination, then the lambo type doors (yes pathetic teenage feeling stuff but whatever!) Stupid money new but getting more affordable and unloved (like the Mkiv was/did) and could be a zero depreciation car if bought right...........could also be a huge money pit as it ages though!

Yes they seem to be getting cheaper by the day!

No not for the filmed races, had a little play after though :)

This makes sense as some of the launches i noticed the driver had already started spinning up the rear wheels. I would hazard a guess that the mk4 would of faired better with you driving.

Yep, the driver, although very good wasn't used to the car plus the runway was soaking wet and with cold ad08s it really didn't help get it anywhere fast, I tried myself after and was abit of a nightmare to try and get off the line without spinning, a dry day would have been so much better, but also for the mk5s too
