Chrisbeast
Hi all. I have a running issue with my '93 jspec tt 6 which started out end of last year. I go to start car, turn ignition on and I've noticed the check engine and slip cont lights don't illuminate. If i then crank engine it'll start but just die after a few seconds. Where as if i just leave the ignition on for about four or five minutes the check engine and slip cont lights will illuminate and the car will then run perfectly. I'm quite stumped on this one, wondering if its an immobiliser problem? I have a Cobra 7925 control/siren with 1984 immobiliser. Any help on this would be great, regards Chris. mellonman
Have you checked for error codes . I know a fuel pump ecu can do the start and die issue as it sends 9v and 12v . Depending on fuel pump the 9v is not enough. Walbro 400 and above . Also had you changed anything before it started happening
Chrisbeast
Hi, sorry I should have mentioned about fuel pump ecu following on from my post last year. I had pump ecu error code come up so in the end replaced pump ecu with brand new. The new ecu sadly made no difference car will only start & run properly depending on engine check light illumination! The same is the case with the old pump ecu too.
mellonman
My alarm cuts out the slip con lamps on the dash and mine have to be on for the car to start . So maybe the immobiliser / alarm is playing up .
Swampy442
Its not stupid low is it, or has been? If so check the wiring loom that runs in the passenger side wheel arch for tyre rubs that have exposed the wires
Chrisbeast
No its all standard suspension wise, i cant see any evidence of tyre rub. I think i will have to go through and check all the wiring!
