Nic
Interesting. Im doin mine in Feb/March so trying to get it right first time. which oil did you use? does it need an aditive? TRD recommend only to use their own diff oil (as they would I guess). Chris Wilson has fitted a few TRD LSD's, so may be worth checking with him. If you need the TRD oil give me a shout. Chris Wilson
does that not mean its mis adjusted and the oil is masking the issue? No it's an oil issue. Even Chrysler and GM have had noise issues with their plate type LSD's and have used additives. That's why so many manufacturers of toad cars went to the quiet, but much less effective, gear type LSD's.

dangerous brain
I can't find where it says how to check the oil level in the diff. Have I missed it somewhere? There are two plugs one at the back I think for draining it and one at the front higher up for filling. It doesn't seem to fill it very high though?? Is it just a case of topping it up until it spills out on a level surface?
Chris Wilson
Yes, get oil level with bottom of filler hole. Use correct plate type LSD oil ONLY, in the TRD LSD or you'll ruin it very very quickly.
dangerous brain
I don't even know what LSD is fitted to mine. I have another thread about that. I am going to swap out the oil in my diff to see if it makes any difference.
