Mad Ad
If im cruising at 80mph then give the car some welly, she will drop down and get to the redline at *20 mph but when she hits the redline the master warning light comes in for about 3 to 4 secs and the power drops for about 1 to 2 secs. Then she will change gear and start accelerating again. She doesnt do it at any other speed so whats going on? Shes a j-spec auto twin turbo with a blitz nur spec exhaust if thats any help. No other warning lights come in when she does this.
Guest Martin F
Do you have CAT's in still ?
Dragonball
Fuel Cut? You have FCD fitted? Does it hit this reduction with a 'bang' or just an easing off? Delimiter? Delimited or does it just hit this 'wall' when you redline? Others will be along...
Steve Cargill
Sounds just like fuel cut. When I had just the first cat in mine would occasionally do it - first time I nearly 5hat myself  Red triangle and no power for a couple of seconds then all seems OK. Not sure you'd do it with both cats still in though. You are also at the top of 3rd so will probably have been at WOT for a good few seconds giving the boost time to creep up. Get a boost gauge NOW and find out what your engine is doing.
Mad Ad
I believe there's only the one cat towards the engine and the exhaust has removed the other. The cut in power is abrupt and I do think she is delimited as she is over *10 mph. Dont know if she has a FCD. She hits this wall at the redline. Call me a twat but what does WOT mean?! Thanks for your help guys.

Thanks for your help guys. WOT = Wide Open Throttle if you slam your foot hard on accelerater it used to do fuel cut on mine. but found out if i gradually put my foot down i did not get it. that would be a way to tell if you have speed limiter on or not. i think jap spec limiter is 112mph and the uk spec car is 155mph a fuel cut defender is next mod to do along with a boost controller and egt gauge to keep an eye on car. loks
Well, well, well....you learn something new every day. I always thought that.... WOT = welly on throttle
Steve Cargill
It'll be fuel cut with that exhaust system. As you said you could lift off and it would start accellerating again it won't be the limiter. You'll probably find that the speedo conversion raised your limit to 180MPH from 180KPH - assuming it's not faulty... Get a boost gauge. You don't HAVE to spend a fortune and they are pretty easy to fit.
Mad Ad
Cheers guys. Thanks for the advice. I was just hoping that the engine wasnt going to pot on me already! But I didnt think so as there was no other warning lights coming on and she started to accelerate again. They're a phenomenal car aren't they!
