Boot leak question- no obvious fix

Hi all, help appreciated.

I have water collecting in the left side of the boot.  I’ve repeatedly saturated the boot lid and the channels and they are sound- there is no spoiler to worry about.

But, if I remove the rear left light and saturate behind it, a stream of water appears and runs into the boot. I just can’t see where the gap is it’s coming in. Any thoughts? It’s clearly this area, but just can’t find the gap.

thanks

Its normally the weld joint behind the light.

Take the cover in the boot off and you should be able to see the leak better then you can seal it

Thanks, I’ll take a look. When you say the cover- do you mean the plastic surround in the boot up into the corner?

I think you’re right, as I traced it to the seam in the metal, but I thought it couldn’t be there. 👍😁👍

Brill ta. Yeah it’s off at the mo’. I think you’re right though as without a scope I can’t see up to the metal join enough, but that’s where it seems to be running from.

just one more question- what would be the best to seal with? Would a bead of silicone be sufficient, or tiger seal? Or is that going to be a loose weld?
