evinX
Been reading into catch cans lately and been thinking, while its not Really needed it may still be a good idea to fit one to my non turbo for longetivity reasons. Now the injectors will clean the valves i get that...But by limiting the amount of crap recirculating in the engine and being burnt off, surely thats a good idea? And on the exhaust side it will limit the gunk going back through the throttle body and gunking it up. Ive suffered a bad throttle body twice now and have a shaft wobble free one on there. Overall i rekon its a good idea as i want my good old NA to keep going for as long as possible, besides the fact itll give me something extra in my dressed up bay. Lets discuss
Burna
I vent mine right to the rear of the car, past the rear wheels of course.
mc92
I think it's a decent idea for the PCV hose on the outer side of the throttle body at least, all that crap in the idle control port and around the butterfly is no good in the long term like you said.
Ark
I had one on there for years, never caught a drop of fluid. Finally stripped it off as it clearly adds no value (for me).

Burna
If you're getting that much blow by and needing a catch can, I feel it's a bit of a band aid for a larger problem you need to rectify perhaps.

The idea of the catch can is to use the increased volume to slow gas speed and therefore condense out and catch the vapour; maybe my can was too small to achieve that, or maybe the pipes were too long...all I know is it didn't work for me.

This would be true. Just had my intake pipe off and to be fair the butterfly valve is clean. No gunk like the old tb. But when it comes to dumping some oil over years onto the butterfly valve and eliminate the engine recirculating its old fumes in still THINK its a good idea. Just struggling to see where i can mount one now as my bay is pretty jammed at the moment

I can’t find any photos of the pipes underneath, but both pipes are clipped to the underside of the car and run right to the back on the passenger side, and exit right at the back of the car.
