Bender
Hi as it start freeezing overnight recently my TT auto develop that strange thing when i reversing car make that strange clunky noise as soon i put on drive car drivers fine after few minutes of driving reverse working without making any noise Its only happend when temps outside are really low 0 or below. Did some research on google and find someone with similar problem which been caused by engine mounts (and 2 months ago when i been on MOT my mechanic told me one of my engine mounts are start become worn) it that could be the thing? keron
Could be just stuck if it got wet overnight? Discs to pad? like when you wash the car and later it locks on for a split second when you go to move it?? or a possible issue with the handbrake internals? Had this before...where the shoe retainers had stretched... try and narrow it down to see what area it’s coming from? evinX
Check the exhaust bracket that bolts to the gearbox. They do that in reverse
keron
could be anything really.... ive found subframe bolts loose, brake pad issues (no retainer clips) or sticky calipers etc .... best to get someone to listen outside the car when you move it or get it on a ramp and have a good look over and check all the nuts/bolts as i always find loose bolts.... but by the sounds of it, it could just be the fact that the pad is stuck to the disc overnight if its very cold? Yes i had 90 degress turn to get from driveway to road so its almost on full lock when i reversing. Strangly lately noise goes away (i dont know if temps outside had to do anything with it) But thanks for another idea next time i will do full lock and have a look on tyre
Scooter
It’s a often reported thing, some old threads on it, summer tyres lose their rubberyness at lower temps, you’re reversing at an angle causes them to sometimes drag/hop briefly rather than follow the exact steering arc/path
