David P
During ten years and fifteen Hybrid transmissions so far, only two have failed and both because of incorrect installation. To help prevent this from happening again, here is what was done wrong. First Hybrid Failure: Broken dipstick, incorrect wiring of solenoids and line-feed pressure-cabled not connected . Resulting with; ATF 1 litre low, engaging OD instead of 1st gear and permanently running @ lowest oil pressure! Akin to driving a manual box stuck in 4th gear with the clutch pedal permanently held half-way down. By revving the balls off it, this box was then destroyed before it even got out of the workshop! David P
Second Hybrid Failure: Wrong dipstick, TPS incorrectly installed onto an aftermarket throttle-body and line-pressure feed-cable installed waaay too slack. Resulting with; ATF 1 litre low, engaging 2nd instead of 1st gear and running with; from lowest up to a maximum of medium oil-pressure! Akin to driving a manual box beginning in 2nd gear with the clutch pedal permanently held quarter-way down. This box functioned enough to be driven to a premature death! Even though all of these details are explained in threads in this Group, if either "you" or your "expert mechanic" are not sure how to install an auto box correctly, simply give me a call and ask.
