David P
EMU or other piggybacks with NA ECU works fine up to a point where closing the plug gap (reducing the efficiency of the spark) will no longer prevent boost blowing out the spark. The more efficient TT coil-packs ignition system cures this and it's such a cheap, simple and better way of doing it in the first place, why not? Why do you think Mr T. put coil-packs on turbo'd J's and later upgraded the GE in VVTI form with coil-packs? The 3 coil VVTI system is more efficient than the earlier 6 coil system, which also conveniently fit nicely under the N/A induction and can be used with TT ECU. No distributor to get in the way of the turbo plumbing and it looks cool too. Ignition upgrade = Win Can run more boost =Win Space for turbo & induction = Win Easily sourced OE components = Win Cheap used components = Win Easy to do = Win Mostly plug & play = Win Looks cool = Win
David P
Steve, Not sure re. the Emanage blue & N/A ECU, yet if not, use a T.T. ECU with the Emanage and Bobs your Uncle.
