Tsia
Hi all, I've seen on Club NA-T the XSPower kits, now, at least on my old MR2 forum, people never rated XSPower very highly, but what are your guys thoughts? It seems a decent enough kit for the cash, the only worry would be whether it performs well enough & if it has any reliability issues. The NA-T has fairly positive opinions, but as it's run by the very person that sells the kit I don't want to take is as gospel. Ideally, i'd love to hear from someone that has the kit installed! Cheers! Sorry if this has been covered before by the way, I just couldn't find the information I was looking for on search.
Guest fixcz
hi my experience with xs power manifold ,after year find some crack in manifold thinks bad quality:thumbdown:
Tsia
I'm worried by the sheer cost of the kit. £1050 or so, when you'd normally spend more than that on a turbo... looks like I'll just wait and save for the Whifbitz kit
Guest Fly
TBH i have just recieved the XS power kit and am in the process of fitting it. By all accounts the kit is getting better but there are still some problems. What arrives is basically lots of bits, screws and bolts in a box with no inventory so you can check what you are supposed to have which is quite annoying, the aftersales service is rubbish, i say rubbish but thats giving them some credit, there sales line canoot even take orders over the phone. However what the kit is good for is a very basic NA-T setup but you will require additional bits to complete it or imporve it, though you would probably need similar bits on other kits. IIf you want the simplicity of buying a near complete budget kit for a reasonable price that will give decent performance then this is the kit for you, dont think your getting a high quality product though with award winning afterservice though. Guest Fly
There are lots of guys running the same kit so as i said its pretty good for your money but you get what you pay for!!
Tsia
Personally saving the pennies for the Whifbitz kit. Plan is to have that within the next few months, so I'll get some posts up about it when it's all done
d-_-b
Guess if you have the money to spend out the mega bucks on the whifbitz kit then go for that, the XS Power kit is good for what you pay. People only ever hear of the "bad" news and use that as gospel. Dr_jekyl used XS power manifolds on all his setups and they worked without fault, no splitting. Same with my friend -welsh-stealth- on here, XS power manifold, no problems. Would be interesting to see the Whifbitz kit actually used on someones car for NA-T, can't say i have ever seen anyone use it other than their demo car.. Tsia
I'm not saying they're bad - as I said, I was highly considering one, it's just that I will have the 'mega bucks' for the Whifbitz kit fairly soon and god damn does it look tidy The Manifold is the very, very least of my worries, it'd just be the turbo itself. I'm a fit and forget type person, as well as liking the ability to actually take it back to somewhere if something goes tits up. To be honest, I'd probably be sold on an XSPower if I got chance to see one in action, but eh. We shall see!
Noz
My manifolds been fine, I bought it 2nd hand and I've had it two years. Its not braced either. I now have a solid mount exhaust though, so I'll be bracing in the next few months when it comes off for an EGT sensor bung.
Dazzi
I had an XS power manifold. No problems at all. People say they crack over time. How about you hold a heavy red hot turbo for thousands of miles alot of people brace the manifold up to prevent this.
