Animal
Confirmed for Download so far are: DEF LEPPARD DEVILDRIVER KORN LIMP BIZKIT MÖTLEY CRÜE PENDULUM SLIPKNOT THE PRODIGY TRIVIUM WHITESNAKE Not a particularly thrilling line-up again. Crue, Slipknot & Trivium are the only 3 I'd bother with. Devildriver are meant to be good, but I've not heard anything of theirs yet.

Animal
Not heard the new LoG album yet (can't watch youtube or anything at work and I'm not home 'til Friday). I was at the Unholy Alliance tour in Manchester - that was the first time I'd heard of Shadows Fall, really impressed. Dragonforce sucked, the EQ was terrible and tbh we were glad when they finished, it was just painful. Trivium were really good and Machine Head were brutal. A lot of bands on that list are from the late 80's - mid 90's when thrash & death metal were gathering speed, so to speak. I'd have a wander around youtube for vids and see what takes your fancy. If you like the more Prog-metal stuff, Queensryche & Racer X could be worth a listen. Maybe Coroner, Flotsam & Jetsam too.
chris2o2
Cheers Animal , i have a few weeks off work so need something to fill my time . You went to the unholy alliance too then , it was good but as you say dragonforce live were disapointing but machine head and shadows fall more than made up for that . Trivium doing "Rain" live is something i wont forget in a hurry The new LOG album isnt out til the 24th , i'll wait and buy it then rather than downloading it - i like buying albums of all my favourites but the new single is on youtube and worth a watch ! Im a huge fan of a band called Protest the hero - check them out , im going to see them in March and i cant wait . Rotting christ and candiria are another two worth looking at ! Animal
Downloaded 'Wrath' the other day. It's not too bad, nothing as blinding as 'Hourglass' or 'Blood of the Scribe' though.
chris2o2
Yeah its not their best album. Saw Protest the hero last night in Glasgow , awesome live band - the guys were brilliant - full of banter and some of the best live guitar play i've ever witnessed . The whole crowd was in awe
Animal
Another couple of bands to check out on the Crossover Thrash side of things: Gama Bomb and Municipal Waste. MW sound very much like DRI used to.
chris2o2
Worth a download then ? I could do with something new to listen too . I've been listening to Shinedowns new album "Sound of Madness" the lead singer has a simply amazing voice .
Animal
Sorry, not looked in here for a while - yeah, they're worth a listen if you like old-school 'party' thrash. Not heard any Shinedowns, I'll have a look for them. Another couple of bands worth a listen if you like death/grind are: Trigger The Bloodshed Sarke Cerebral Bore - these guys are fantastic, possibly the best UK Death Metal I've heard in a long time. Animal
Cool, what's the vocals like? Sounds like it should have something good and growly in there. Or is that just me thinking everything should be grindcore My band split up last month, so I'm back looking for another project. Pain in the arse as I work away Monday to Friday. Hope the gig goes well.
James
Think along the lines of Psyopus It's not gutteral in this one, that's more what Element 106 (other band I linked previously) does
Animal
Well, I'm currently jamming with Manchester band Nemesis: Children of the Fey with a view to securing a regular seat behind the kit. It's just been a bit of fun for the last month, but they've started going through their songs with me, so for the moment, things are looking good and I'm loving the old-school speed/thrash sound (reminds me of Sabbat quite a bit). Guest Viv
WOW! I never knew this even existed. I thought for a long while that I was the only one driving around with Decrepit Birth at full volume with the windows down. If anyone is interested, there is an amazing band from Japan called Disconformity. They are apparently coming over some time next year. You can hear some stuff on their myspace; http://www.myspace.com/disconformity
Animal
Nope, it's quite surprising how many metalheads there are driving Supras and even more surprising that the majority of them are into the more extreme stuff, too. Me, I'm an old school Thrash/Death/Grind metal fan, been into it since the beginning in the early/mid 80's and it's still good. I'm off to see Cannibal Corpse/Dying Fetus/Annotations of an Autopsy/Trigger the Bloodshed in Sheffield next month, followed by Slayer in Manchester in November. Animal
This one slipped me by, but US thrashers Anacrusis have reformed and their website currently has all their albums, demos, videos and stuff available for download. Anacrusis Listening to "Suffering Hour" now, I'd forgotten just how good they were. A very underrated thrash metal band IMO.
kjgreen3
Ok first thing this is NSFW without spoiling this link as the surprise is what increases the impact, do not watch with girlfriend/missus etc. http://visit-x.net/rammstein/ Ok don't click just yet, Im a metal fan although never really been a massive fan of german metal. However Rammstein have always intrigued me and I have been following them from a distance. They released a new album and this link is the UNCENSORED version of their first single titled "pussy" think that says it all. Would like to get fellow metal heads opinions on Rammstein and particularly this track and music video, personally I think Germans have a sense of humour based on this! Animal
Never been a big fan of Rammstein. One or two tracks are okay and their live show is supposed to be worth seeing, but unless they are on at a festival, I wouldn't pay £60+ just to see them. As far as German metal goes, there are some fantastic bands out there, especially German Thrash Metal with the likes of: Kreator Sodom Tankard Destruction Endstille Violator And some more mainstream metal Accept Doro/Warlock Helloween Scorpions UDO Blind Guardian Edguy
heartworm
The show recently in Manchester was outstanding, as they always are when I have seen them. Nice choice there Animal, Kreator are fantastic and so underrated.
