erachter
Hi all, I am an owner of a UK-Spec TT Auto with the stock B04D 3.538 ratio. This diff came stock on UK autos and other EU cars. It has a pump and an external oil cooler. I've searched through the web and found out that all the UK cars came with LSDs and B04D was listed everywhere as LSD. I've had my car on the lift today and when turning one wheel, the other was spinning in the opposite direction, which is sign that the diff is open. Also, by looking at the Toyota specs and online parts manuals, there was no mention that this diff is LSD, while looking at other diffs - they had it mentioned, here is an example: My UK auto car (JZA80R-ALPVZW) 1993: 41301-14090 - CASE SUB-ASSY, REAR DIFFERENTIAL - JZA80..(4FC,5F)..(EUR,GCC) 41110-14750 - CARRIER ASSY, DIFFERENTIAL, REAR - JZA80..5F..GCC JZA80..4FC..EUR*FGR=46:13=3.538 Jap TT Auto 3.7 diff with LSD: 41301-24040 - CASE SUB-ASSY, REAR DIFFERENTIAL - ??(LSD) 41110-14720 - CARRIER ASSY, DIFFERENTIAL, REAR - ????????????????, ??(LSD) Does this mean TT autos came with open diffs or is my car an unicorn :D? chaoticentity
These are torsen LSDs, and this behaviour of the other wheel rotating the opposite way to the wheel you're applying torque to is normal.
AC93
Yeh that's normal and not really a LSD 'test' ...when torque is applied it will act as LSD. DO A BURNOUT! :D
