dcarroll95
Bought a RHD Supra twin turbo from Canada and 3x I've had the engine cut out and not able to rev past 1500 RPMs. The first time was going uphill on a giant overpass, second time was turning hard. Car sorted it out after a few minutes of gently revving it these two times. Today I left the garage and ran over an electronic gate metal plate and it did it again, so got it back into the garage and it stayed messed up. Turns out the module with the CEL is dead, so had to pop one in from my other US 94 turbo to read the CEL code. Reading around on the forums about Code 14 ignition signal led me to inspect the coils and low and behold one of the brackets that holds 2 coils was missing both bolts. Popped two in and car started and ran smoothly to WOT. Hilarious. Too bad I drove 50 minutes each way to get the fittings necessary to check the fuel pressure and spent an hour in the store, but grateful for a $0 fix. So if you get CEL code 14, check the ignition coils located under the central engine cover plate. Dan
