Rev limit....or not as the case may be

Are you sure it was a Caravan. The profile looked very similar to an R32:p

 

Here Glen, does yours have the little cut outs in the front bumper? I heard this was foresight by Datsun to assist Breakers with Fork Lift Trucks;)

Mine seems to do what randy's is. It gets to about 7.5k on the rev counter and kicks in with a backfire on liftoff. But what annoys me is that the car doesn't seem to be out of its powerband - especially in 2nd, which makes me an unhappy bunny!!:(

All that I have done to the car (that I know about - no history from japan) is an induction kit with carbon air ducting, HKS SQBV, some japanese big bore exhaust and CW Decat pipes (no restrictor ring).
