Used Greddy 4" FMIC value

I've just removed the Greddy 4" FMIC from my car. It won't be reused as I'm reverting to a CW SMIC.

I've not got a clue as to what this thing is worth. It comes with all pipework to connect to a single turbo setup and has a Tial blow off valve coupling.

The pipework is also fitted with a number of fixing points for an aquamist type system.

This is a well used unit. Whilst perfectly serviceable it will require some work to get it back to a shiny state.

Anyone able to assist with pricing?

Well a new 3” Greddy FMIC from Whifbitz goes for £1,620. This is a 4” setup but used condition. Has to be worth more than buying a cheap Chinese copy or non-branded setup which seem to sell for around £300/400. Paul sells his 4” kits for £576 new, so I’d say £450-500 is reasonable, but that’s just my 2p worth. ;)

Thanks Pete. Appreciate the input.

Rather then sell I'm thinking about offering this as a swap with someone who is looking to remove their factory SMIC and associated pipework, ducting, expansion bottle etc.

knowing what you're doing with your car I'd be tempted to just buy a new SMIC using the money raised from selling the front mount

I got mine a little while back from a Toyota dealer in Germany (a mate put me onto them after dealing with them for GT4 parts) they have the SMIC currently listed at 550 euros, which works out at £490 plus shipping, and no import fees to pay etc.

For all the rest of the bits you need, there is someone selling an SMIC with all the rubber pipework on eBay for £30 or best offer, though if you wanted new then all bar 1 hose (which is out of production) is available on amayama for around £130 plus shipping etc. The SMIC duct is £40 on amayama and the coolant tank assembly is £40 also.

I think i have some of the hard pipes (if not all) spare in the shed also.

Hi Jim. I should clarify. I already have a new CW SMIC and new OEM SMIC duct ready to install.

I will probably get a Whifbitz hard pipe kit and customise this to fit my single setup.

I just wouldn't mind having a set of all the factory SMIC parts and thought this might be a reasonable swap for someone.

Can’t go wrong with CW’s gear, love his side mount. Nothing out there like it. You not tempted to run without a BOV Matt?

Hi Ben,

I hadn't if I'm honest. I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the sound of the BOV on a spirited drive. :D

Anyway, I thought running a turbo car without a BOV was madness?

Got you, makes sense. i would say then that a swap for a decent condition second hand setup with some cash your way also would be fair.

Nope, not at all. I believe they were invented because people didn’t like the sound of a car without. Also, a chat with CW convinced me it wasn’t ever need.

Turbo cars sound so much better without one :eyebrows:

I don't run a BOV on my single turbo, I prefer the sound of the compressor stall :D

even turbos without an anti-surge housing?

First thing I removed from my TT, anti surge shouldn’t ever be needed if the system is set up properly. If you are getting surge on boost you have really problems.

Sounds so much better and is much more discreet.
