Chris Wilson
I have just sent some IC's abroad and have received tentative enquiries for two more, so if you are thinking of replacing that ratty stock mount IC with a state of the art new one with a modern core with current tech air to tube surface area enhancements, now is the time. Circa £995 depending on quantity. All replies by direct e-mail only please, or here, no PM's!! raddys
Any improvement over the whifbitz one I have fitted atm? Or is it so minor that I'd needn't bother? Thanks
Chris Wilson
I never comment on other trader's products, it opens a can of worms. Suffice to say the cores are to the same spec as used on F1 turbos, and the build quality is the same, and done in the same place, by the same people that build F1 intercoolers.I hope the photos speak for themselves. mwilkinson
Andrew K is running one of these and his car is around the 600bhp mark. I'm ditching my GReddy FMIC and putting one of Chris' SMIC intercooler into my 600bhp single turbo. Edited August 6, 2020 by mwilkinson Change Greddy to GReddy - Is that better David? David P
Andrew K is running one of these and his car is around the 600bhp mark. I'm ditching my Greedy FMIC and putting one of Chris' SMIC intercooler into my 600bhp single turbo. "CW" is also easier to spell than "GReddy". Chris Wilson
Thanks Andrew, I am pleased it's still giving good service. I have one customer who had one sat on his desk as a talking point for six months, he said it was at least as beautiful as his wife. (I haven't met his wife though.... )

Marcus GTE
They are works of art. Always happy to plug these and was doing so only last week. Also nice to get a new line on the F1 connection. That’s really cool.

Chris Wilson
Remember folks, it's also the ducting. Toyota ducted it fully and exited the air into the very low pressure wheel arch region. 90% plus FMIC installations are not ducted, over half have a portion of the core useless and out of the frontal air stream. Air will flow the path of least resistance, if it can go around, instead of THROUGH the core, it will...
j_jza80
Wow 600hp+ from an smic, thats very impressive, they do look very nice and well built Yep. And I know Chris wanted to avoid comparing his product with Whifbitz, but when I went single, I had to replace my Whifbitz smic with an FMIC, as it was incapable of cooling the charge air sufficiently. That was with Whifbitz installing the single turbo too. In hindsight I would have gone with a CW SMIC to start with.
bignum
Just for reference mine was running 580 bhp for a good few years with no issues.

Tbh this was one of the main things that put me off going 600hp+ single, I never wanted to get rid of my active front lip set up and was told by numerous tuners that I would most certainly have to go fmic if I wanted anything more then 500hp. Very good work Chris. Can I ask what you are running with the cw smic?
Rashed
I've just received mine from the man himself, looking forward to seeing what can be achieved with a set of hybrid twins in my vvti car while still retaining the factory active aero spoiler Quality and work looks spot on so far....lets see how it performs!
