Cat temp sensor, can I unplug it?

Hello,

I have a 93 JDM Supra 2jzgte. I have installed a Haltech 2500 and I am in process of installing a PHR single turbo kit. Just wondering if I can unplug the cat temp sensor? Will it make the car run abnormally or leave a dash warning light on?

Thanks!

Could I delete this sensor and wire all together without any negative effects?

Its purely there as a safety feature. To let the ECU know if your engine is running too lean, too hot so it can make changes to the fuel/air ratio to cool the gasses down, As with all sensors, you only need them to tell you or the ECU there is a problem, remove this and your ECU will never know if there is a problem.

The good side is over temp on exhaust gasses tends to be more of an issue in smaller high compression ratio engines than old big lumps like the 2JZ with its massive oversupply of oil and water flow/cooling galleries.
