Crash Bandicoot
Hi all, in the middle of filling out an agreed value form for sky insurance, The guys there are a pleasure to speak to compared to other insurance companies BTW! Just a little disheartened at them capping my agreed value at £28k... Here’s the spec list, Will add photos shortly via Tapatalk. Would like to know what value you’d want your agreed value set at Make/Model: TOYOTA SUPRA MK4 RZ 6 speed v160 from factory HKS big single turbo conversion Year: 1997 Facelift: YES, switchover facelift with non-vvti GTE engine Mileage: 72,500 MOT remaining: 2nd December 2020 Can come with a fresh ticket Service history: bundles of paperwork and receipts (£10k+ in the last 18months) Car's location: Plymouth, Devon Specification: HKS T04Z turbo (hybridised) HKS GT T4 divided manifold HKS 3.5” downpipe HKS GT wastegate Apexi power F.C. stand-alone ecu with Supra loom and handheld power commander Map sensor direct to ECU loom Sard 850cc side feed injectors Titan 264 camshafts Titan cam pulleys Walbro 450 fuel pump Spec stage 3+ clutch Fuel lab fuel pressure regulator Genuine Hks sqv4 dump valve Mishimoto spec R front mount intercooler Whifbitz 3” twin box exhaust system Whifbitz 3” mid pipe Aluminium large core radiator Blitz dual solenoid boost controller Defi racer stand-alone exhaust gas temp gauge Defi racer stand-alone oil pressure gauge Defi racer stand-alone boost gauge AEM afr gauge with wideband sensor U.K. spec brakes U.K. spec drilled and grooved brake discs 18” Rota GTR-D alloy wheels with Achilles 123 semi slick tyres. Oem sideskirts (fibreglass) Oem front bumper with lower splitter Oem rear window roof spoiler genuine Rear spats Celica GT steering wheel TRD spoiler with Gary England’s “kicked” carbon blade, Freshly painted oem spoiler also available Pioneer sph-da120 head unit with apple play/ Bluetooth/ gps/ handsfree phone Tein street advance coilovers S2000 stubby aerial kit Upgraded Door speakers all round with amplifiers/tweeters and sound deadened doors/panels LED facelift front indicators Rear strut brace Front strut brace APR carbon fibre cooling panel Whifbitz carbon fibre fan shroud Carbon fibre engine under tray Carbon fibre air filter to turbo pipe Black flocked dashboard, door cards, boot panels (drivers door card could do with another flock, full flock kit can come with the car) New genuine Toyota gearbox oil New genuine Toyota diff oil New genuine Toyota dual mass flywheel New power steering fluid with 5ltr flush carried out. It’s currently mapped to 1 bar of boost, making 600bhp and 480ft/lbs. this can be easily tweaked again for more boost pressure and see higher figures with no other mods needed but I like to run it safely and the current power is more than enough for me. Fully reconditioned suspension, all arms have been polybushed with super pro. All ball joints have been checked and serviced. New rubber boots all round, new MOOG drop links front and back. All arms cleaned up and treated with DYNAX S-50. It’s just come out of a full window out respray in oem Toyota 040 super white. All panels were removed, spayed inside and out, all under panels/framework painted before panels were refitted. Jacking rails straitened, protected and painted. Window enclosures, door seals, boot shut, everywhere you’d expect to have fresh paint has been done. Even the bonnet underside that’s hidden by the heat shield has had fresh paint. New rear 3/4 windows fitted. The supra is mint. No scratches, blemishes or swirl marks. Paint was carried out 2 weeks ago. Good bits: It’s a factory 6 speed in factory colour, has a well known brand full single turbo kit with all the needed extras fitted. It’s got relatively low mileage. It has 170-175 psi across all cylinders with proof. It’s had a bucket load of money spent on high end parts in the last year, the majority of them being brand new so won’t need replacing any time soon. It has the usual refinements, such as black headlining, black carpet, black oem leather front seats, and I have the original airbag to go with the car as it’s been replaced with the genuine hks electronics gauge pod. It’s been to SRD with Lee for the cams, cambelt, pulleys, waterpump, tensioner, mapping. Along with some other bits such as the cam covers being fully cleaned and painted, intercooler pipework modification. Receipt here for £3,000. It’s just come out of the body shop for a glass out respray, all door/boot shuts painted properly, under the wings, bumper front end etc have all been painted before reassembly. All chassis rails have been wax oil treated. New rear 3/4 windows fitted. Engine bay has not been painted as it was my winter project to take engine out and tuck wiring etc where the bay could be painted properly. Bad points: Driver and passenger windows are scratched The usual noises that come with an updated clutch... noises never change or get worse and I’ve been told over and over that it’s completely normal. Scooter
Things are changing quickly, and the asking prices have been making some leaps recently, a few have sold for over £30K but is it that many? I think there is a lag at present, if in a couple of years the prices of £30K and nudging/over £40K now are common place then I think we'll see their limits increase. Perhaps show them the prices of a regular TT6 imported from Japan? These with taxes and duty are way over £30K now I believe?
Scooter
There is a 6 speed SZ-R so non turbo like one of my old ones and it's clean but done 100K km's, it's 2655K Yen approx £19,200 add on shipping then 10% duty then 20% vat and get over £26K! Modded 150KM TT 3513K yen £25,300 + shipping + duty + vat = near as damn it £35K (and it's not a minter or single or I suspect resprayed)
David P
That’s a bummer, how on earth do we upload photos now?! Uploading photographs to the forum from a computer, is the same as it ever was, I have never wasted any time with crapatastic posting so can't help with that. Sooner or later, another post tapyourcrap user may grunt you a mobiletastic solution? jamesmark
I’ve tried that and I just get prompted with “file size was too large” You have to edit them to reduce file size to no greater than 1mb. Use MS Paint for that.
Crash Bandicoot
I haven’t got use of a laptop or desktop computer. I’ve always managed fine with my iPhone... for everything. Seems like the forum is still in the dark ages with respect to issues like this.
Crash Bandicoot
Ended up taking screen shots of the photos, which has obviously lessened the quality. Hopefully not so much so that it detracts from the awesome new paint job!

Seems like the forum is still in the dark ages with respect to issues like this. Mobile phone text-grunting along with predictive text gibberish, has systematically reduced the forum to a place that fewer folks want to be. Would help my future valuations out a lot as you don't see many come up at all anymore!

Definitely over 30k to get one imported from Japan, a white TT6 with similar miles to OP but with standard twins is 25k in Japan plus shipping, duty and VAT, taking it into the mid 30's landed. https://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/TOYOTA/SUPRA/700957070930200318002/index.html On a side note, looks like 78k (over 100k landed in UK) would get you a TT6 with six thousand miles on the clock! https://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/TOYOTA/SUPRA/700100239430200509001/index.html
Crash Bandicoot
Would anyone following this be happy with an agreed value of £28k? I was hoping to set it at £32k myself but sky wouldn’t go for it. £28k, as you can imagine doesn’t cover the cost of the car and what I’ve put into it. rider
If you aren't happy with the agreed value limit go elsewhere. there are plenty of citations in the Insurance section of this website of insurers or agents that can arrange the agreed value at pretty much what you are want, within reason. After all, insurers raise the premiums on level of cover so why would they not, you probably best as your current agent to ask their underwriter to get an answer to that. Crash Bandicoot
They went back and forth with the underwriter when I brought it up, the conclusion was that £28k was the limit. I’ve already taken out the policy. Guess I’ll have to lump it and hope that nothing untoward happens to the supra over the next year. This post was more to see if anyone else has been met with a similar situation regarding agreed values.
rider
You have a 14 day cooling off period to cancel and insufficient cover would be a valid reason to cancel insurance cover.

Crash Bandicoot
I think I may be out of the 14 day period now, I had it insured after not driving it for 8 months odd, then had some niggles to sort in the garage. Not to worry, I’ll roll with it for now. Anyone here with a similar spec supra mind sharing their agreed values?
