jza800
Hi I have a gab about 150mm to 170mm between the intercooler pipe that goes from the intake to the pipe that connect to the intercooler because the intercooler pipes cannot reach each other , can i just run a 200mm silicon hose on that gab, or do i have to find a 100mm pipe to put in between the hoses?? and how much it will expand if you drive with a boost pressure of maximum 1.5 bar? because i have the ac lines over there, and i know the pipes runs very close to the ac connectors there, so if it expand to much i am afraid it would make a hole in the silicon hose?? Can i just put a hose in between there, as you can get a hose in 76mm and 200mm long? Dnk
I'd replace the pipe that's too short with another hard pipe
jza800
I'd replace the pipe that's too short with another hard pipe I can't do that as i can not get that hard pipe longere, it is the one that connect on the intake, and the other goes to the intercooler, so i can't find some that are longere.. j_jza80
Take it to a fabricator to weld an extra section onto that pipe. Introducing extra hose joints in the system is Introducing extra potential failure points, as would be bodging a universal piece of silicone pipe to join that gap. Noz
He may need a joiner anyway. Depending how its piped welding then together may not be an option. Might make it unable to come off the car if he creates a loop. Always opt to weld over silicone. For this instance. I would use a piece of pipe and two separate joiners. Yes its a pain in the ass to get two silicone pieces and a bead on the lips. Silicone may be able to take the pressure of the internal boost. But that angle may cause the silicone to deform to a shape that restricts flow. Conclusion. If you cant weld it. Add a piece of pipe! Dnk
I had a perfect fit on this kit, it is after i have build another bumper to mine, after my widebody build, the changes i did on the bumper is the cause of this now. Not sure how that affects the FMIC pipes, i had TRD widebody with no need to change the cooler pipe work
