I have combed this forum & can't seem to come to a conclusion as to what to go for. LED is just a different frequency why would they ban that. The reflectors wouldn't intensify a low lumen output. I mean I've not googled to check if its legal or not. "Under British Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations, LEDs are not mentioned, because they were not invented, when the legislation was penned in 1989, meaning that they are not permitted at all..." It's not the "brightness" that's the issue, it's the position of the "filament" in relation to the lens. The lens is designed to focus light emitted and a lens designed for a halogen filament allows "scatter" with other types of bulb. It's the dip beam that has the problem with "scatter". Nevertheless, the design of Supra headlamps includes a "projector" lens for the dip beam and I'm pretty sure that it could be reclassified to be legal, it's the non projector headlamps that are the problem. Fitting HID/LED bulbs to reflector headlights is what's illegal as it changes the beam pattern. The supra has projector lenses. It's fine. However my MOT has been fine at 3 different garages for the last 5 years so im not going to lose any sleep over it. I wonder if they do a reliable LED for the fog lights too? Also, did you have to file the plastic ridge in the connector on the dipped beam bulb?
