fisherjohn
Nearly completed putting my car back together. It appeared not all damage was done by me at Woodbridge. My car is a 1994 TT When we removed the exhaust valves virtually all of them had been blowing and not seating properly. All valves on the Supra have shims as you all probably know unless the later models have hydraulic ones. My car has only done 46k and the head itself was quite dirty inside where it should have been pristine clean, exhaust valves were not seated and had blow marks on all of them and all had to be lapped in and approx 6 recut. The shims on the exhaust side were way out and took approx 4 hours to set up. Although my car was running very quiet and smooth even after blowing 3 spark plugs 1 piston and a set of turbos. It may be advisable for those with older cars to check the functioning of their exhaust valves as they could well be like mine which is possibly a contributory factor to my major rebuild. Hopefully running Thursday Night.

fisherjohn
Quite possibly will give a good indication. Some guys said they were getting up to 180 / 186 across all six cylinders. I had nothing on number 4 due to piston blown away. But done correctly should give some indication if they not seating correctly i would have thought. Steve Cargill
I've needed two new exhaust valves in mine following TSC. Don't know if they were blowing, but they were burnt afterwards.
