griffsplace
Hi I seem to have a fair leak coming (a regular drip) and its only getting shuffled about on the drive at the moment, from the w58, I am going to pull the box out this week and give it a good look over, are seal still available for these units? Am i opening a can of worms that i will regret? Any advice or parts necessary info would be great.
m12aak
Are your valve cover gaskets leaking? When mine leaked it collected there also, so it may be worth checking that first and then tightening the bolts/replacing the gasket (if it is leaking). mc92
https://toyota.epc-data.com/supra/jza80/94050/chassis/3301/04331/ Appears to be different part numbers for seals depending on the year. I'm not sure what the differences are but all 3 are available online. http://shoarmateam.nl/upload/MKIVSupra/Supra-MKIV-Repair-Manual/Transmissions/Manual%20W58.pdf Here's the gearbox repair manual from the TSRM which might help. Looks like the outer case seals are squeezed out of a tube.
griffsplace
Appears to actually be water leaking from the connection at the back of the block/head, now that looks a bitch to get to. Think I am going to leave it leaking for a bit.
m12aak
Yeah, that is an annoying one to change, I found using bent needlenose pliers helps.
