Foxx
Hi all, Wondered if any one had any tips to help me restore this part of my facelift dash please? It is where a phone holder has stripped the coating i think. Saw some info on plastidip on the search but not too much info. Thanks in advance. rider
All it looks like you have there is a footprint of glue residue thats trapped itself a good amount of dust. A non destructive thing to try is warm dilute vinegar on a few layers of kitchen towel laid over the patch to allow it to soak into the glue then once it has sat a while and still warmish and still surface wet take a toothbrush to the area to roll up the old adhesive. Then wipe away. If that doesn't work WD40 is supposed to be good at softening residual glue but I'd want to check white spirit doesn't stain or bleach the vinyl on a test area first. Lastly, a nuclear option would be a acetone wipe but that will attack (dissolve) certain plastics.
