evinX
what are the symptoms of a bad throttle position sensor? I was suffering from symptoms of code 42. Replaced the ECU. Replaced the speedo converter. Speedo works spot on against a gps speedo. Transmission sensor connectors are fine. Starting to think its something else and not the autobox. At 60..70 the car surges up and down in power making me think its the autobox but now im thinking maybe is the engine / throttle body doing it as it happens when i hit the accelerate or let go of it. I even suspected the pedal cable...thoughts on the tps? The car car idles fine and drives fine at low speeds. Tired now as when it surges its really annoying
cbowditch
I had the TPS fail on an Impreza. Not the same I know but symptoms where that the throttle would stick on and you'd accelerate when not pressing the throttle. Very dangerous!
MrGRT
Search for code 42 cable fix, it is a common issue. I had it and just had cut a wire and split another into it.
