HarleyFDMD
Hey Peter, i had another read through this last night and noticed I've bought the same flywheel and clutch (i think) as what you have. How do you find it? Especially the flywheel.. is it super noisy?

I’m going for a brand new Spec Stage 3+ shortly, as we are finally fitting the Hypertune and single kit including the rather mighty Garrett G40-1150. Will be interesting to see how that drives being new and beefier than the current Stage 2+. But to answer your question, flywheel is quiet with no excess noise whatsoever. Who fitted yours mate? Was it new or used?

Should have mine fitted at the weekend. Its all brand new, i have a stage 3+ clutch so I'll let you know what thats like!

No noises though on mine, it was a tricky one to gauge as I went Tiptronic to V161 with the clutch that came with the box. Whilst a bit on the worn side, actual operation and noise wise it’s pretty much OEM. Think SRD were a bit worried when they saw the condition of the clutch, but they were surprised how well it drives. Think you’ll be happy mate. Good luck with the install.
Peter P
Afternoon All. So had a mammoth day yesterday driving across to Whifbitz to get the half cage and harnesses installed. Huge thanks to the guys for their hard work and effort, wasn’t as easy as I’d have liked, looks like the rear is slightly out possibly linked to the accident damage we found when we replaced the drivers side rear quarter. Meant a lot of elongated holes to get it to fit, but it worked in the end and I’m really happy with how it came out. Had a good wash and clean inside and out today, next up is the trip to SRD in a couple weeks to get the single fitted. Hoping they can send me some photos and updates I can share with you all. Till then, here’s a few photos of the cage and harnesses all fitted and looking rather tasty. Enjoy!

Thanks mate, did put my mind at rest and the harnesses were actually the easy part in the end.
Peter P
Morning all. Hope you’re having a nice day too. Forgot to grab a few photos of the new Pro Spec Imports carbon wing mirror covers. Snapped a few this morning before I set about cleaning the daily. These go over and around the stock mirrors, so easy to fit and they look surprisingly good. Very pleased and adds a nice touch.

Less than a week to go now until I need to dig out the Hypertune intake manifold and drop it off with Lee and the team. Been waiting years for this, can’t wait to see it afterwards and drive it home. Stay tuned for more updates guys.
Peter P
Afternoon Folks. So next phase of my build is now officially underway. Dropped the car off at SRD this morning. Few before photos from Lee so hopefully I’ll get plenty more as they start the work to get the single setup installed. First job was whipping off the U.K. brake calipers which are off to BCS for refinishing as the OEM coating is awful and was coming off badly on the passenger front. Not going to spoil the surprise and say what colour they are going, I’ll post up some photos when they are back and reinstalled. Keep an eye on this for updates, now the fun really begins! Cheers all.
Peter P
Started to strip out the twins, looks like we have some blade damage on the front turbo. Not sure how or when that happened, but apparently not that unusual as Lee has seen them like this before and they still work fine.
Peter P
Had some more photos and updates from Lee/SRD. Strip down is going well and some new parts have been fitted including the Radium connections, GTR style coilpacks, new fuel pumps and hanger and they trial fitted the Hypertune intake manifold. Note all the carefully placed masking tape on delicate areas like the carbon pieces and the intake manifold to prevent any damage or scratches. Clearly taking a lot of time and care to fit everything which is nice to see. Love the difference between the original fuel hanger and single 255 pump versus the behemoth Radium hanger with dual 485 pumps. Considering it only went in on Monday I’m really pleased with the progress so far. More updates to follow.
Peter P
Morning All, Had some more photos and an update from Lee/SRD. The PHR power steering reservoir is fitted, so is the FluidAmpr crank pulley and the Radium fuel pump hanger and new pumps we saw in a previous photo. New battery also mounted in the boot. It’s all coming along nicely when you think it’s not even a week into the build. Huge thanks to Lee and the team for their efforts. Looking forward to seeing more updates soon.
Peter P
Evening All, Had some more updates from Lee/SRD today. Ash has been busy making one of his beautiful exhaust manifolds. Done some test fitting with the turbo and it’s looking so good. Also got the refurbished calipers back today from BCS. I opted for McLaren burnt copper, but it’s also known as burnt orange. I’m guessing it looks different in person as the photos make it look a bit more orange than I would have liked, but I’ll have to decide for myself when I see the actual car if I’m happy or not. Bit odd and disappointing they have over sprayed the new piston seals. It’s off because they clearly took the calipers apart and replaced the seals, but didn’t paint them first and then rebuild them. Looks like they rebuilt them and then painted them which is why there is over spray. Don’t think it will show on the car, but considering this was their premium service and not exactly cheap, it’s a bit frustrating. Think it looks better with the wheels back on and the body in the photo, but let me know what you guys think. Work will continue on the hot side for now and then Ash will move to the new intercooler pipework which is going to be powder coated in the same dark copper used on the current pipework, strut brace and also the bolt in half cage. I’ll provide more updates when I hear more, but going well so far and I’m very happy with Lee/SRD and the work they’ve done for me so far. Thanks guys.
mwilkinson
Shame about the calipers. I agree, they should have been painted before being rebuilt. The bonus is that they look great, especially with the wheels I had been looking at BCS for my brakes, so this is a timely review.

TuneR
Those brakes are very orange alright but i like em, they stand out behind the wheels as they've been tango'd. I would assume there would be no issues with the paint afterwards but it is annoying.

It is a shame as BCS did my ISF calipers a few years back and they did a great job. Just wanted to share and glad if it helps others. SRD are doing a great job as they always do. It’s the care and attention to detail that really impresses me. Super pleased with their work. Lee has told me they look better in person and not as orange as in the photos, so hopefully all good there. Shouldn’t be any issues with the paint, and if there is BCS do give a warranty on their work so should be fine.
Peter P
Couple of update photos from Lee/SRD. They painted the throttle body black to match the Hypertune and tie in better with the engine bay theme. Notice all the masking tape to protect everything whilst they do the fabrication work. It’s this level of care and detail I really appreciate and value. Coming along nicely.
