Peter P
Hey Guys, So I collected the car from SRD yesterday. Shame the weather was so pants, had to take it easy obviously but still had a couple of gentle pulls and it felt great! Hats off to Lee, Ash, Mike and the rest of the team, love what they’ve done with the car and can’t wait for a bit of dry weather to really see what it’s like with the new setup. Needs a good clean after the drive home so fingers crossed it’s dry in the morning. I’ll grab some photos if I can get it cleaned up.
Peter P
Morning All, So after an early start (up at 5:30am) I managed to get the car cleaned, ceramic wash and wax and a nice coat of ceramic wax as well. Pleased with how it came out. Also added some extra storage and racking in the garage which I’m pleased with. Just need to sort all the parts that came home I don’t need anymore and try to sell them. As you can see, lots of boxes I could do with shifting!

Dieter
Hallo Peter.....

HarleyFDMD
Soooo.. have you managed to get out in it yet on a nice dry warm day? I bet you're absolutely loving it. Your car made similar numbers to mine. Trust me it doesn't get boring!

No, not managed to get it out as yet, but hoping the weather is good for this Sunday as I have the GT Tuners open season event to attend at North Weald. Fingers crossed it stays dry so I can try it on the full 1.6 bar with minimal traction control required. Coming home from SRD I was on 1 bar boost and wet setting for traction control which was safe and still fun when I did floor it.

Mines at 1.6 bar too Probably just me being a pussy, but it took me a few days to actually dare pin the throttle until red line lol
Dieter
Peter P
So had my first show/outing in the car yesterday. Thankfully it was dry if a bit too sunny (got burnt! lol). Did mean I could use the full send and get the traction control off wet. Have to say car drove perfectly, good power delivery and the car pulls like a train. Couple of photos from the day.

Peter P
Hey Guys, Small update from me. Spoke to Lee at SRD last week and he mentioned there was a Dart block available and would I like to buy it ready for my engine build early next year. I had a bit of credit leftover from the single install as we decided the current clutch would cope for now and we will replace it when we do the engine install. I was still short and initially told Lee thanks but no thanks. His concern was we might get to the point where I have the funds for my engine build but there are no Dart blocks available and we’d have to wait. It played on my mind so managed to get the funds I needed in the form of a loan/help from my Folks (thank you Mum & Dad), so I got back in touch with Lee to say let’s do it. Unfortunately that particular block had sold but they can supply one in a month or so which is fine with me. Will be stored safely with the guys at SRD till early next year when the build can hopefully begin. Popped out at lunchtime on Friday as I was WFH to see Matt at MH Bodyworx to catch up and prep him for the engine bay paintwork I’ll need him to do when we do the engine build. He was happy to see the car and will fit me in when needed so that’s one more piece of the puzzle sorted. It’s funny how much you see and notice the tired bits of the bay once the twin turbo bits are removed and the single is installed. Just lets it down a bit so glad that will get sorted as well and we are doing body colour with some smoothing etc and delete work for any holes/bits no longer needed.
Peter P
Hey Guys, Thought it was time I had a little update to keep the build thread alive. Not had much use of the car towards the end of 2024 like most of you as the weather sucks and I’m not a fan of salty roads. We needed a better dog car after our pooch needed a leg amputated so I picked up quite an unusual estate that many may not have seen before. It’s a 2015 Honda Civic SR Tourer. 1.6 i-DTEC and 6-speed manual gearbox. Returns impressive MPG and is well spec’d with heater leather seats, infotainment system, button controlled active suspension etc. Been a great daily and I like the pearl white when it’s nice and clean as well. The purchase does mean I’ll have to hold off on my Dart engine build for now but I have a few plans I’m hoping to do in 2025 depending on what my budget allows. Currently thinking the following in order of priority: - wheel refurb and colour change on the lips. So I had that awful choice to make, go down a deep and nasty pothole or hit the white van man head on. Not really much choice and wham! Down it went with a sickening thump. Practically cried the whole way home from my folks as new it was bad. Looks like a flat spot on passenger front rim and tracking was out with a steering wheel judder which has improved a little following an alignment, but I’m pretty sure it needs repairing to fix the issue fully. Issue is the current rim colour is fairly unique to Works so if ai can get it fixed it will need painting. Plan is to switch the lighter bronze colour and match the darker copper colour I have on my half cage and pipework in the engine bay. I actually think it will tie in and work well so fingers crossed. - Next we have a visit to a detailing specialist for a full detail from top to bottom with a full underside treatment process. Had a friend get his done by them recently and the results were superb. Been on my to-do list for a while now and is money well spent to get the car looking great for shows etc. - Seats could use a re-trim in proper leather versus the pleather they have at the moment. When I had the seats out for the dash swap a gust of wind caught the drivers seat and it toppled over on the driveway. I wasn’t expecting any serious damage but to my surprise it put a tear in the back of the seat. I do have my eye on some different seats I absolutely love but budget will determine if I swap or just retrim the existing seats. TBD. I bought a fairly generic and cheap rear F1 style fog light for the Z-tune diffuser. Trouble is it’s really dim and pathetic to the point of being pointless really. I’ve spoken to a buddy called Pedro who I’ve known for a while and he has kindly offered to make me a bespoke replacement with some super bright LED’s which will be an exact fit for the gap in the diffuser. Think this will look a million times better so is a must for me. - Got a few more interior trim parts I’d like skinned in real carbon. Got a great guy who has done really good work for me in the past so I’ll be sending off those to get skinned and refitted as well. - Depending on budget I may look at changing out the U.K. brake setup for K-Sport’s again but on a smaller disc this time as the 356mm wouldn’t clear the wheels sadly. Given my power goals have changed and we are now thinking 1,500 is a fair target I would like some better stoppers to suit. There is a 330mm option which we think will work so might get a full set of those as well. Will have a service and check over with SRD as well obviously but that’s probably it for this year. Engine build as you can imagine isn’t going to be cheap and I will need to change up the turbo as well so need a windfall or a lottery win. More likely will need to save up and get it done when I can afford it. Watch this space and hopefully updates will start around March. All the best, Pete
