terribleturner
Well the police came into my liofe twice today but this was just after i left work. Had to stop at some lights at Regents Park and a police car comes round the corner slows along side me and asks me to park up. Now i've been running with no plate now for a good few months and so got reasdy with my excuses So he ask's why no plate and i told him that as he can see from the front i've done a little damage and have a brand new one and my bracket sat here (Pulled out brand new plate). I also said i've just done a night and havn't had time to fit it yet. Thank god he didn't look because my story wouldn't have made 100% sense he asked where i worked and when i said Cartoon Network he became all friendly and started telling me about how his kids love it. So i say thanks and go to get into my car when his partner who must have been upset that i didn't get done then had a go at my rear plate size. I then informed me of the Import plate size and that it's legal, but he was having none of it and told me to get it fixed asap. Yes sir, please sir, 3 bags full sir, my arse. So will the plate go on today?? Maybe, but probably not

terribleturner
It's my dad's birthday today, and just after mid day he thought he'd take his wheelbarrow and our 2 westies and take a walk up to the local farm for some manuer for his garden. As he gets up the road in my old Yankee Baseball Jacket and wellies looking like some sort of missmatched huskie team he spotts a few Police officers walking down the road. As a concered resident he thought he'd ask them about a recent letter posted by the police about a rapist in the area that we've been told to be aware of. It turns out it's a man between 50-60 who's been attacking young boys. Then they start to question my dad, even asking does he dye his hair . He said the way they came accross he was expecting a pat down too. I found it very amusing, especially on his birthday to have a stop and search. Class One
James, if you take your chances? Least you didn't get a rectification notice.
terribleturner
What gets points Dug? Small plate or no plate??
Class One
Don't think either are endorsable offences. But you can get served with a rectification notice to get a correct sized plate fitted.
terribleturner
The price of beauty Don't mind the fine and having to get the new MOt (or what ever it is), just don't want the points
Homer
I've been pulled over once for no plate and got a rectification notice (no fine). I asked what would happen if I got caught again without one and the officer told me I could go to court once I got to 3 notices. They did however advise that if I were going to do something then just stick it on the dashboard. Naturally I got the reification notice signed ( ) but didn't fir the plate. However since then the plate has been on the dashboard and no one has bothered me. It must have been 6 months+ now and I drive past a police car at least once every day or two. supragold
I haven't had a number plate on the front of mine for over a year and a half. I've even had police come up to me and comment on how nice they think the car looks. Probably jinkst myself now hey.

cornimac
is that part of the blag or do u actually work for them?? Ee's that big controller chappie that turns on the juice to your telly-box for that and other channels, matey Good plate story, James. Interesting about the windscreen placement thing though. I had my new one sat there a while with no probs too. Funny thing is half of it was obscured by the wiper... should have left it there Hope yer Dad's smiling
hogmaw
Just as well you weren't caning it round Regents Park, it can be tempting I know...
terribleturner
Regents park would be lovely to race around, but they sometimes do a speed trap down there so you never know
hogmaw
Bastrads is that right? I have never seen one in 10 years driving there, but I don't doubt you if you have. With all the congested roads with speed bumps and buses Regents Park is a relief when you wanna just floor it even for a SECOND without having to worry about speed traps... but you know it's owned by the crown, does that mean 'normal' traffic laws don't apply ie it's a private road? Somehow I think I know the answer already... :thumbdown
terribleturner
Yeah i've seen them twice in the last 4 months. It's the bike units that are doing it, down the side that runs paralell with the barracks.

terribleturner
Yeah, they weren't hidding, but 2 of them just at the side of the road isn't obvious. Think both times were just before 8am on a week day and weekend.
