Dan8
In the process of doing my build and looking for a engine stand anybody have any recommendations or stay away froms would be appreciated thanks
AC93
I had my spare 2J engine on a SGS stand for almost a year.. no issues, was only about £45 too iirc
Iky
Clarke ones from Machine Mart are usually good. I have a cheap £50 one from ebay that's been fine. In hindsight, I would have liked to get one with a built in drip tray.
Dan8
Thanks for the feedback I will take a look at the SGS one I had a look at the Clarke’s and machine mart ones but they had mixed reviews hence this post but mainly seemed to be people struggling to get the locking pins in whilst engine was rotated and I don’t think this would be a major issue that would bother me to much mainly stability and of securing really is what concerned me thanks lads
Mike2JZ
+1 for SGS. Much sturdier than MM
Dan8
Thanks had a look and it looks great a lot better then anything else I seen for the price Am ordering this but currently out of stock at moment
and1c
Ive got two machine mart ones, one mega heavy duty one and a lighter duty one. Both worked perfectly well. I never had a problem rotating a 2jz fully dressed engine on either stand. If youve got the storage space the U shape legs one is mega stout
mc92
I've just got one of the ebay 450kg chinesium ones and I've already broken it. I definitely don't trust it, the engine droops down at an alarming angle. So I don't recommend that one lol.
Mika
I was in the same situation in last autumn. I needed a sturdy engine stay for my export spec 2jz-gte and ended up to order this one: https://www.bahco.com/gb_en/500-kg-geared-engine-stand-pb_bh8ac2-500_.html I did had a flimsy basic engine stand before, but I did not wanted to risk dropping my 2JZ to the ground if the flimsy engine stay would have let go.
