sidewaysdan
Morning guys and girls hope everyone is keeping well.. Ok. So before the lockdown my car developed a miss/stutter on boost. my thoughts were the plugs/leads I had a similar problem on my old supra and was old plugs. And I’ve done lots of web searches. So I’ve changed out the plugs to the same that came out Ngk r bcr8es. And changed the leads to B&B OML 10mm silicone performance HT leads. But I still have the misfire . Plugs are at stock gap should I regap ? I have checked all pipes for boost leak all looks fine . Anything else I should be checking. Troubleshooting Spec Na-t TT gasket Emu ecu 630 injectors T61 turbo 60mm wastegate Mapped to 18psi Thanks dan

rider
If you don't get any joy on here with a solution then you might want to give Chris Wilson a call to talk through your symptoms. I've found him very amenable to having a chat over all things Supra. You probably do need to catch him when he has a moment or two to talk but if he has time to answer the phone he probably has a minute to talk. I've had a couple of occasions to call him and always found him very helpful and very pleasant to chat with. The reason I think he'd be good to talk to is he would be able to point you down and through any possible sensor fault and how to test those as all the position sensors are getting very old on these cars. sidewaysdan
Bit of a update . So I’ve gone over the leads and everything I can think of again. Took it for a quick run up the road and if I put it in 2nd it seems to be ok/better but if I put it into D. And try to come on boost hard it’s just missing all the way through the rev range.. Hi rider thanks I will give him a bell if I have no luck . Edited May 10, 2020 by sidewaysdan (see edit history)

sidewaysdan
Around 11s but very erratic as it starts to stutter
Swampy442
That plug looks a bit on the lean side. How old is the ECU?
sidewaysdan
It was on the car when I got it and I’ve had it since 2014
evinX
Split pipe/ vacuum leak?
sidewaysdan
Nothing noticeable . I’ve checked the pipes as best I can. Will order a new igniter just to eliminate. Split pipe/ vacuum leak?
Style
Happened to me a few times. A new coil sorted the issue once and the second time around it blew up before I could get to the bottom of it Coils are only 30 quid or something so could be a good check to do
sidewaysdan
When you say coil. Is that the igniter. It’s so frustrating as can’t really take it out to much to troubleshoot it . Where did you get the coil from Edited May 11, 2020 by sidewaysdan (see edit history)
Style
Coil is the one that runs from the king lead on the center of the dizzy to left side of the engine bay. I can't find any Toyota ones brand new anymore but EuroCarParts have a few

sidewaysdan
Yeah I’ll order one of them then that’s all the ignition components changed. I was wondering if it was blowing the spark out on boost..
sidewaysdan
I’m baffled. Took it out earlier turned the boost down to low about 10psi was fine so I gradually turned back up no problems. Back up to high boost .. ran for around 20mims fine then just started to miss again . I do have a new arm and 4Runner coming so will give that ago see if any better. just seems so intermittent now .. sidewaysdan
New cap and arm fitted. Checked all plugs all seem ok. Quick vid of the afr gauge and you can also hear the miss backfire https://share.icloud.com/photos/0FIsr0-zvEnKQhA7zw4OrKAKg#Bletchley
Steve
I'm assuming the plugs are at 1.1mm gap? Might be worth trying them at 0.8mm.
