Shifting problems on supra eu tt automatik ***solved****

I have some shifting problems on this supra with a 2jzgte and a automatic box attach, as my knowledge is limited on automatic as i have worked most on manual cars, i really need som help, i have taken a video of the problems, there is no error codes stored on the ecu.. i have heard that the a340e have some known solenoid problems, but as there is no error code stored i have a problem to know where to start, is the transmission known to have oil pump problems, and can that cause the problems i have..

thing i have checked..

oil level ok

no error codes stored in ecu

visuel look on all wiring and connectors and seems ok

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_JNSGvYFsY

Problem was the ecu. It was a manual ecu that was mountet on the car, a/t ecu solved the problem

Don't know if you've already done this, but have you done a partial drain and replace of transmission fluid, you need 2l of auto fluid. Mr T still sells the genuine Dextron lV stuff inexpensively. You can do a full change, but that can do more harm than good. User DavidP has guides if you search for him.

no i have not done that, the car have only 60.000 km on it, so would think i would find the problem first before i change the fluid. or have a good idea if that would cause the problem i have..

It’s not just about mileage with fluids, they degrade over time so should be replaced regardless of mileage at the manufactures specified intervals.

Try another ECU

Common for auto ECU's to fail these days and cause weird issues. If issue is still present on another ECU, then could be solenoids?

That was my thought too, that Ecu could have some problems.. but as it is a euro spec it is very hard to find one i could borrow.. i get no error codes out of the ecu at all. and when bridge e1 and te1 the O/d and engine light flashes fast, indication there is no error code stored.

Auto ECU malfunction may not store an error code. Obviously if its hard to find another ECU to test with then maybe investigate some other possibilities first

When was the filter last replaced? Might be worth dropping the fluid and gearbox oil pan and checking/changing the filter

the car have only 60.000 km on it, i can't see anywhere if the transmission oil or filter have been changed.. i have heard that it is not necessary as it dont have a filter, but a oil strainer, it is a kind of a filter, but not a filter like an oil filter is.. i have work most on manual supraen, so automatic is a new world for me..

I think i have found the problem, i don't think it is the right Ecu that are in the car, i can see previous owner have been smart and changed the ecu on the car, i have en idea it is a manual ecu that are put in the car. but as the case on the ecu are removed, i can't get any numbers of what ecu i have here..

can someone help me to the right ecu to my car, it is a lhd supra twin turbo targa 2jzgte 330 hp..

so if someone have one laying around, please contakt me

Mileage is irrelevant, if it hasnt been done yet, it will need doing now. It is a filter, strainer is just another name. If youre losing drive (thats what the video looks like) the lack of oil being picked up is probably the cause

i am not losing drive, the gearbox act like it dont know what gear to be in, and when it find the gear it change really hard in to gear..

have you read my post above, i am pretty sure the problem is the ecu, i think the previous owner have change the ecu for some reason, and it dont have the cover on it, so can't see what box it is, but my thought it is for an manual supra..

I don't think a manual ECU can run an auto at all? Looks like a gearbox issue to me.

Yes it can. they run the same software to the engine, so the engine will run with no problem, but the ecu for the automatic have the software to the autobox in the main ecu.. have seen that problem before.. you can use and auto ecu on the manual car, but not the other way around as the gearbox is electronic controlled.

As you manually engage to drive, the gearbox will drive in that gear you put it in, but in drive to engage 1 low gear, but as there probably are at manuel ecu in the car, the ecu can not send signal to the solenoid to change gears, and it will try to change but get the wrong signals from the ecu. and it will change hard or not change right.. but that is only as i see it, i have not worked that much on auto supras, but i will find out when i get the right ecu to the car..

I had shifting problems ,would not go into O/D tried loads of things ,in the end I took the lid off the Ecu and could see straight away I had a blown cap ,took it too my local tv electrician he replaced and checked the board now it works just fine AND it only cost me £20

Should say on the ecu lid if it’s auto AT or manual MT
