Frank Bullitt
I think it todays climate it's bloody cheap. Best thing to do would be put this thread on hold and start another to get a value otherwise you risk it being sold and flipped for a profit. This appeared to be an absolute steal in today's market.
Ric
Tbf a genuine GZ aerotop is a rare bird these days has to be 18-20k When you finally get a sale price please PM me so I can use it as an example for my agreed value. They rarely come up for sale
Mo Reviews
If everything is as it appears and it is a genuine GZ, I'd probably say it's worth somewhere in the region of £20-£23k.
Frank Bullitt
Going with the economic mindset of today, the theory seems to be that if anyone wants something Supra related they will just have to pay as apparently the UK Supra market is too cheap Seeing what gets offered for premium prices today and sells (does it? contentious I know) I would go high but be prepared to barter and accept decent offers. Can't remember the last GZ that sold. Edit - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?354404-1993-Aerotop-GZ this was cheap and didn't hang around looking at it. Advertised 26/8 and apparently sold 07/09. These two are up on eBay at the moment. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-TOYOTA-SUPRA-3-0-TWIN-TURBO-AERO-TOP-2D-223-BHP/274289630851?hash=item3fdcef9e83:g:V6EAAOSwq1Nd8Y1D https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-SUPRA-AERO-TOP-TWIN-TURBO-AUTO-1995-N-REG/293487854843?hash=item44553d44fb:g:JMMAAOSwiCFeM3b- Edited February 28, 2020 by Frank Bullitt eBay links added. Frank Bullitt
So what would define it as a genuine GZ? The VIN I would imagine (JZA80-AJPZZ) and produced from 05/1993 - 04/1995. Bit of reading as you also have the option of export to the USA legally now - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?355402-2020-Agreed-value-prices-following-the-market-upwards

Noz
So what would define it as a genuine GZ? It may be a fake Supra. Maybe an MR2 with a body kit.
Frank Bullitt
Is it ok to post a pic of the vin complete? I don't see many cars getting cloned today but just incase ping it to me and i'll double check it

I knew it was a GZ, but it's always good to have a third party agree. No worries, glad I could help. I guess a question that needs answering is how rare is a GZ aero compared to a UK spec auto? Anyone know the numbers?

Mo Reviews
So what would define it as a genuine GZ? Primarily, an original GTE rather than an SZ aero with a GTE transplant. I see that Frank has already confirmed that it is indeed an MR2 GZ! Edited February 28, 2020 by Mo Reviews (see edit history)
Mo Reviews
I believe I read somewhere that they made ~630 GZ Aero's. Don't know uk cars. According to this site, there were 680 UK Supras produced.
Foibles
From what I recall early Supras didn't have a VIN only a chassis number. for instance in Australia we preface the early Supra chassis with a 6 character reference 6u9000 to create a proxy vin. Seems the uk did the same. If you pop the chassis into a supra chassis decoder it should tell you all you need to know. A simple method but not a universal rule is the level of equipment on gz vs sz mocks... Airbag wheel, cruise control, etc. Not uniform, but generally sz owners wont fork out for a 94 airbag wheel when modern replacements are cheaper and better
Foibles
Worth doing to also confirm the specs.... Eg what colour was it pre pearl red?
Foibles
Or restore it to its original price and sell it to someone who wont flip it, and will cherish it and its value oriented pricing....
