Hi

Is the switch 89428-33010 and 89428-24010 the same or? i have bought one on ebay with number 89428-33010 and they say on the ad that they are the same as 89428-24010, my problem is that the fan keeps running even if the switch is connected, but if i bridge the 2 pins on the plug, the fan stops.. so are there difference between those to switches ???

Here's a thought.

If you were to become a more active member and contributed to the forum on a regular basis rather than just acting like a parasite you may get a little more help. Especially when you play this forum off against the US forum because you don't get your answers quick enough. You only come on when you have a question you want answering then moan when you don't receive an immediate answer.

How about saying thank you once and a while to members that have taken the time to post and post your resolution to the problem rather than leaving your threads unanswered.

You can't expect to get more out of this forum than you are prepared to put in.

I think you were just a bit keen for a reply. It's not the typical thing people would know.

Just my thoughts.

Have you tried wiring it backwards. I dont know anything about the switch. But I've know some to have diodes in which would affect function.

Only an idea. I dont know the switch.

I have now worked with the switch and wiring diagram, and can see there are 2 types of switches, a open loop and a close loop, the supra runs with a close loop so when the temp is not high enough to engage the fan the circuit is closed and do not power the fan, and when the temperatur is at the switch temp the switch open the circuit and send power to the relay and turn on the fan..

so to answer my own ? yes there are 2 types of switches...

That's worth knowing, thanks. If you find a UK seller of part 89428-24010 then would you mind letting me know?

If you've removed the AC radiator cooling fan (although not all models have these) then that can also cause the circuit to stay open with the fan permanently on, unless you connect two wires where the AC pressure switch is (or was). Can't remember which wires I'm afraid but just thought I'd mention it.

I did buy mine from this guy.

at first i did remove mine as it did go with the route of electric fans as my fan should was broken, and a new/used one was hard to find at the time, was lucky to find a used one, so did build mine back to stock fans setup..
