Dealer is in Bucks, Platinum Autos, near Princes Risborough. They said took it as p/x Interested if anyone know history of the car or it has been on the forum before. Scooter
Call me cynical but the way all the photos just stop you from reading the number plate would make me want to know it to look up the MOT history. It's not the be all and end all but it can allude to potential mileage issues and/or work that may need doing asap. It's just worth a cursory check imo, every little helps (it certainly looks the part) If you are not dead set on the colour there is a very good condition red one on ebay, it's up at £30K but doubt they've had a sniff and I think they got it in auction at £16/17k. At the prices being asked now £25k or £28K (which I'd think must get the red one) is neither here not there really just have to focus on getting as good a one as possible? I think the red ex-auction car has been discussed here and I've got impression it wasn't GZ, or am I wrong? Also they have different descriptions on eBay and PH. No photos of engine bay of the red car, ebay descriptions stated 223bhp. I am not set on colour as most likely it's gonna be a project with full respray. 'Carbon' roof worries me though. I've got photos with number plate etc. I think it is common now not to show number plate whilst advertising, at least I came across this v often with other high end sport cars Edited February 3, 2020 by 4leks (see edit history)
Scooter
I think the red ex-auction car has been discussed here and I've got impression it wasn't GZ, or am I wrong? Also they have different descriptions on eBay and PH I'm pretty sure the trader initially posted it incorrectly, the model number (E-JZA80-AJPZZ) on the Vin tag would confirm, I'm 99% it's a genuine GZ, has all the cruise etc.

tayr
I'd be surprised if that car wasn't on here at some point
DMY23
I could be wrong but I believe this car has been owned by a couple of members on here. If I'm not mistaken it was off the road for a number of years after the bonnet flew up causing some damage including to the targa roof (hence the carbon roof replacement). As I say, I believe it was sat for 5 years or so after this, and was then bought and repaired by a member on here (can't for the life of me remember his name), and then sold on shortly after. I'm not 100% sure it's the same car, but from memory that car had a stillen front bumper too, and the repair involved replacing the roof for a carbon item. Not sure there are many, if any other cars with those combination of parts in the UK.

This sounds right- I did an MoT check on this car (you can just about make out the reg from the photos that were on eBay), and it was definitely off the road for 5 years or so. charlton
Genuine GZ TT Aero's were only produced from 93 - 94 so I would take the 95 & N reg in good grace as a potential 'slip' (but also cautious due to other dubious traders that cannot be mentioned in that area)
Swampy442
All I'd say is, buy with your eyes. Go look at the car, if it looks like crap, the seller isn't answering all the right questions and it feels off, then don't go for it. You don't need to be a mechanic to use your gut instinct. If you've seen it and you think it's OK then find a helpful member to check it out
MrGRT
If you decide not to buy that car I have a black GZ aerotop that will be up for sale in March.
