Crash Bandicoot
Hi everyone, I’ve noticed that the forum has been a bit quiet lately, so as I’m doing a fair strip down of my supra currently I thought I’d add in here what I’m doing and give anyone with questions the chance to air them This post I’ll keep to the fitting of polybushes all round. I bought the full kit from whiffbitz for a tad over £700 and will be buying the additional anti roll bar bushes and diff bushings shortly. I decided after removing the ball joint boots that the ball joints themselves were barely worn and that I’d save the mega bucks on replacing with new arms by fitting new boots and repacking with fresh grease. A note to all, the arms are not too bad to remove... however the bushes are VERY hard to remove. I’ve bought, borrowed and stolen many tools and equipment to get the old bushes out. Soaking in petrol is my preferred method as it really loosens the rubber up. Here’s a few photos of the process on the rear drivers side. P_Bazz
Massive job, like you say if the ball joints are in good condition it is well worth the effort. My preferred method on the hard-to-press bushings was burning them out and then cutting the metal sleeves out of the arms. Very time consuming but very rewarding as well! Remember to slightly adjust the toe-in more outward when aligning the car, the PU bushings don't like to flex as much as the OEM bushing resulting in increased tire wear when using the OEM values.
