herbiemercman
Hi Everybody, I have just added the extra rear sub-frame torque bush in accordance with David p's recommendations, just for the uninitiated members, the NA's have just one torque bush to handle the 220BHP, so if you are going NAT, and doubling the BHP, then you upgrade to a second bush, as per Toyota did with the TT model. The consequences of not doing this is abuse and possible failure of the diff and drives. Many thanks to David P, he must now be on a par to Chris Wilson. Herbie. mattdavies
Did you just add the one bush or did you change them all for poly bushes ?
herbiemercman
Just the extra one, the other looked fine, also the improvement the extra bush makes, in my opinion is more than adequate, there must be other members like me that do not know about this essential improvement, lets face it, diff repairs will be mega expensive. rider
You learn something new every day, I never realised that the NA cars only utilise the one diff rear bush mounting. These are pretty important bushes as they fight transmission hop on power down or power off and when I did my underside refresh of all the £10k spent on bits and bobs the only parts that really did look like they were past their best were the two rear diff bushes that were rather soft and spongy compared to the new OE ones that replaced them. If people want to stay stock they could probably do worse than hold a spare rear diff bush or two while you can still get them, well you could in 2018. Noz
Interesting. As I've tripled my BHP I really should consider doing this.
Style
Nice work, I got a second one added to mine when I addressed the underside. For all it must've cost Toyota during production, it's a bit strange that they decided to do without a single bush. Literally everything else is the same underneath otherwise

Yeah definitely mate, counting my blessings with all the kit they left under there for us. Just doing without a single bush is all that confuses me lol
