What's my supra worth?

Hi all, getting ready for the better weather and looking to get an agreed value car insurance for the supra. Basically just want to know what people think it's worth in today's market.

It's a 1996 jap TT auto. She is a facelift with pre facelift gearbox and pre vvti engine.

It has an A02B diff and UK spec brakes.

She is 100% stock with zero mods on the car, even has a stock radio still in the car.

Mileage is at 47,000.

Just had everything replaced at srd including belts, plugs, diff, power steering fluid etc.

Must admit also curious for resale too.

interestingly, my insurance company asked if i had receipts for any 'mods' that would increase the value

Of course. The purpose of agreed value is the cost it takes to give you what you had before any accident or loss. Insurance would need to cover the cost of a car and the modification you've made as long as you can provide the receipts.

I just showed them similar examples of other Supra for similar price and they matched my proposal. I don't have receipts for much of my work.

I feel if you can find other market examples, it's a weighty argument for replacement.

Push for £30k. Find other adverts to help the price.

Let them knock you down. Rather than you punting too low.

They can only say no.

I wish I'd had a higher price. When they say yes without question. Always makes you wonder.

That’s not how it works sadly, I tried to push for £30k on my car as it obviously not a common supra...they just point blank refused, they won’t come back with a counter offer sorta thing.

Ah interesting. I would have thought they would have surely said no this is what it's worth due to reason a. Reason b. Etc.

Were you able to use similar vehicles? Or they just didnt care.

I explained to them that the car didn’t come under your normal supra price/availability due to it being a rare colour, explained only x amount came up for sale over the last 10 years. I also got a valuation from JM imports for backing up about how rare it is and also registered the car with that supra registry, i used them to verify the numbers produced and etc.

Also had to give them detailed pictures of the car to along with it. I’ll check my emails to see if I can find the email I sent...

I currently have my factory original 94 TT Auto for sale for £21k, 94k, all the rare options, folder of paperwork/spare keys, all maintenance up to date etc, also insured for £21k ..but had no serious people come to view it over the last few months.

Hopefully things pick up and I get it sold now we're past Christmas!

Maybe there is a pattern with different companies. I suppose it would depend on the underwriters though and not sure that's easy to find out.
