Nathanj1142
Hello again everyone, Trying to get my upper arm ball joint back into the wheel hub on the rear subframe. Can’t get the ball joint to stop spinning while tightening the nut. Any quick fixes? Cheers
David P
Use leverage to hold the tapered joint together, whilst doing up the nut. Edited January 12, 2020 by David P (see edit history)
Nathanj1142
Managed it with a blow torch and bfh! Probably not the best way but had to be done. Thanks for the suggestion David
rider
I had a problem tightening the nuts with the joint spinning in its socket until I used an impact drive that got it tight enough so it didn't spin and could then be finished off with the torque wrench. Swampy442
They normally have a hex he'd in the ball joint to stop it spinning
