Best place to get stock catalytic converter replacement?

Lads,

I have a mid decat pipe in my car the past 10 years with no issues passing emissions as the car was N/A and still retained the cat in the manifold but i did a TT vvti conversion 6 months ago and had to use a decat pipe. Ive my NCT (Irish MOT) due in 3 months and i want to get the car tested but ive no cat in it. Ive tried searching online to find a used one and they are all either in the states or a spurious brand thats for an N/A. I had considered welding a cat in too but wasn't sure on a brand. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I just had a very reasonable quote from my local dealership at ~£300... in fact, I was told I could have the 2nd cat along with the rest of the exhaust back for ~£1200!

Thats really good. Will call mine tomorrow and see what they tell me. I remember me and the parts person having a proper rant about it lol

edit - Amayama 828 + 100 post. I can see Toyota UK easily coming it at over 1500 again, wont bother calling lol

Don't get me wrong, there's still a ridiculous lead time and you have to pay for the parts in advance but it appears that at least the prices have become more reasonable. Drop me a PM if you don't have any joy with your local dealership tomorrow and I'll send you my contact's details.

No, it's a TT VVTI 6 speed. I've heard the UK cats are more expensive but I don't know whether there is any truth in that statement.

Part numbers attached bud.

The UK cat is different to all apart from US specs, they have a hole for a o2 sensor. Pre facelift 2nd cats are actually catalytic converters as to the facelift VVTI 2nd cats they are hollowed out inside with no catalytic converter and are just a casing/ pipework which explains the price.

Adam, are you still looking for the cat and exhaust....or are you going new from Toyota?

I am happy with either really. There are a few things I need to consider with both options, namely; cost, condition and availability. Having said that, the immediate availability of a used one would probably be most appealing I think...

Let me get some pics of the one I have. It has been wrapped and dry stored a long time but I got it and a VVTi 2nd cat as it was in very good condition and I had my stock car then and was collecting for a future spare/refresh. Now I only have my modified one I can't really ever see me using it.
