Engine Hesitation and Tacho issue

Hi all,

Just purchased a fantastic 1995 Supra NA 5 Speed Manual.

It is in great condition except it has two minor issues and I think they might be related but unsure.

Firstly, the car hesitates and feels like it is bogging down low but after 2500~ RPM it seems to run fine. There is no check engine codes and nothing looks out of order.

Secondly, the tacho has recently gone haywire, and seems to be getting worse. Idle the tacho reads 4-5k and then when driving, it just sits at the 6 o’clock position. The actual idle is okay, but the tacho is crazy.

Given these two issues I am having, I was thinking it was the ignition module but I have no idea how to verify or if the first issue could even be caused by a faulty ignition module.

Would appreciate some help on this one

David

Thanks for the suggestion. But that really doesn’t come the same issue, sounds like that guys timing was out.

The tacho has slowly gotten worse, was first alright and just had issues when cold, the today if would seem as if the values are just multiplied but it is getting worse now

Is it running in KM's and Km/Hr or does it have a speedo convertor?
