Door control module repair

Recommended Posts

Having now suffered from an intermitten door control module, i thought id start a thread similar to the ECU REPAIR THREAD for vital info and pics. Having spoken to Keron today we had a good converstation and shared experiences with them. They seem to only play up in very cold/ damp weather. And go back to normal in warm weather.

Intermittent, locking or unlocking only or not working at all and then working later on. Keron said he only gets calls or them at this time of the year and never in the summer.

The units are not sealed and just unclip from the casing to get the board out. 2 relays and 1 chip with lots of resistors on the board but prefacelift and facelift have different designs.

I have sourced a pre facelift and facelift unit an have taken pictures. I have 3 units here to play with and start finding an answer to what many have suffered. With each unit i have experienced different symptoms, the above and with the facelit unit it locks itself sometimes when driving but works the best out of all 3.

Is it possible to use the late model red door control module part number 85980-14070 in a 93 model? My car currently has the early blue one part number 85980-14110

Yep they can be swapped. But the blue is the later facelift model. Red is early prefacelift
