AC93
Hello all, Has anyone had any experience with a B7 S4? I currently have a B7 2.0 TDi, and its served me well comfortably munching 24k miles in 15 months. But I don't keep my cars for too long and fancy a change. I've already owned the following: Corsa C (first car, don't hate ) Ibiza 1.9 TDi and 1.8T Saab 9-3 (loved it so much I bought 2 of these at 19 ha) Focus ST mk2 BMW 330d Leon Cupra mk2 Alfa Romeo 159 Range Rover Sport TDV8 I am currently selling my TT Supra to help fund a house depo and finish off my 700hp NA-T 6spd build so I don't need something ballistic as a daily. But I want quattro/4WD, estate and auto with heated seats - for around the £6.5k mark, preferably petrol (bored of diesels now and the relentless war against against them) The only 'horror' stories I've read with the B7 S4 is the chain and tensioners can be a £2k engine out job, but if they have been done it should be relatively reliable and worry free? All input most welcomed! A.C.
tintinmt
Have S4 B7 Cabriolet. I have to say that the entire drive train is excellent, verging on sublime. I believe you are right - engine is in backwards so the chain is at the bulkhead.

tintinmt
Cool.. how long have you had it for now? What mileage is yours at? Auto or manual? Hi, Had it for a couple of years. The car is on about 80K - its auto. The gearbox always seems to be in the right gear if you know what I mean. The linear power and torque make it seem relatively effortless.
